  3. Thanks guys, yes ebay is shit now, to dodgy dealing with some people and prices have gone through the roof...

  4. Certainly with parts, ebay/paypal fees are so high the price has to be loaded to cover these costs.
Also ebay have recently removed their cap on final sale commission. :Greedy:

  5. Ebay will only push people away, shooting themselves in the foot, springs to mind....

  6. it would be good to see the Ebay Monopoly broken for sure, so much evidence of shill bidding now and I realise I have probably fallen for it many times. I have heard people selling talk about this as though it's normal FFS.

  7. Chris, whats shill biddding ?

  8. It's when an 'accomplice' puts a bid in for an item with no intention of buying it just to get the purchase price higher

  9. Ive seen a bit of that done on items i wanted, Ebay is always the first place people go to for anything now.

  10. Quite often you will find a person has more than one account and they just jack the price up by bidding against their own item. It's very easy to do and I don't know anyone has ever been banned for doing it by eBay. It suits them anyway as they make more money out of it in fees, so why should they care.

I agree the stranglehold they have on many items needs to be broken.

  11. I refused to pay for the last item I bought through shill bidding . He had over bid my top bid and retracted his bid and bid just under my top bid . I reported him and they say he got a mark against him , but I couldn't see it , hes still doing it now FFS .

  12. eBay operate a three strikes policy then allegedly suspend the persons account. To be fair to eBay they will have recorded the strike if it warrants it, but you will not know as it is not available in their history anywhere, you have to rely on eBay being honest enough to record the strike.

Unfortunately eBay can be very arbitrary in their actions and it's not possible to take matters up with them because of their terms and conditions which fundamentally say they can do what they like and there is no appeal over any of their processes or decisions. Or as we might put it "like it or lump it!!!" shame really.
