  3. Quite right Mr R,the world has gone mad.Buying a 'good Triton' is a bit like buying a 'collectible Ducati'.Ignore the shine and hyped up advertising and see what you are really buying.
A lot of the period Triton bits are now so expensive to buy that a new/old build is a very expensive project to undertake.Add in the labour costs in either money/hours and you can spend a fortune on what is really a weekend toy.
I worked out the build cost of a Triton I acquired this year, just in parts alone and I got a brilliant deal.
One or two things I will change on it to make it 'more original',but luckily I have the parts.
Perhaps the current trend for retro/cafe racer will run its course and all these 'desirable bikes' will end up at reasonable valuations.
I have my old bikes because I like them, not for making money.Much easier ways to make money than bike speculating.

  4. my uncle (who died in 1992) always wanted one of these, and he never pursued the dream, despite having the money to do so. He used to go to the Isle of Man to watch them race.

  5. I do like the look and thats some Dollar as well.
Is it me or is the engine a grey colour.

  6. certainly being bigged up by his mates ,am always suspicious of those questions n answers lol, coupled with 30+ bids.

still a very quick bike restricted to "naked" bike speeds and tbh dont see the point myself, spesh looks wise, those big radiators just kill the big streetfighters for me.
my gsxr11w was the same, fugly without fairings on.

  7. I like that and its a very clean bike,

  8. It is but the photo's can deceive - not saying they will in this instance but I would question having had a full restoration why the pipe wasn't standard, perhaps more short cuts. And what is going on with the RH lower fairing panel in picture 3?
    I do like these.

  9. I see what you mean and marks on the side panel, i would agree with the frame up rebuild but not a full resto,
it should read had frame up rebuild with original panels with a few marks, i still like it.

  10. I had one of them in White with Blue stripes in 1981 @ 17 - mine was V Reg, great memories and a mad mad bike in the day. We used to wear the pegs and flatten the pipes grinding them on the road but fell off a lot, I once borrowed the girlfriends brothers 350LC and rode onto wasteland where mates were fishing, there was a single pole as a barrier to stop cars as a gateway, horizontally about 4 foot high, didn't see it was closed, rode into it - the bike carried on, I didn't - not sure my riding has improved a great deal since then:D. Only doing about 15mph and the 350 was that battered you couldn't tell - he wrapped it around a maypole on a village green a few days before....
