Hello... I´m close to a good deal with a 2010 Multistrada 1200S with no more than 5,000Kms on it. Let see if everything goes well with this opportunity. Now I have to sell my V Strom 650 ABS I just imported at the beginning of this year because I can´t have two bikes in my garage... wife problems! Drive safe!
If you move the wife out of the garage and into the house you will fit many more bikes in the garage! I have four in mine, but the wife would like me to have more.
This is becoming a bit of a risk here, but perhaps I should explain. I was not making any assumptions about the size of anyone's wife here, just implying that if she is in the problem to fitting more bikes in the garage then she may be living in there with all the things that go along with the life of a wife, bed, washing machine, cooker, sink etc. My wife keeps telling me that she intends to tidy my garage, but I tell her that if she does that then I will go and tidy her kitchen, but remove a wheel from her bike and put that in the kitchen too, she has never dared to attempt her threat.
Just be careful if buying used. You need a long warranty to fall back on when things go wrong. This one looks the part, but see here and here for details of its history. In the time I had it, I had the following replaced under warranty, then finally decided to get rid when I got a bill of £1300 for a failed main engine bearing: Radiator Right-hand switchgear Left-hand switchgear Sidestand switch Clutch-fluid reservoir Front brake-fluid reservoir Exhaust compensator (section incorporating exhaust valve) Rear brake caliper Tail-light bracket Water pump cover Clutch-side crankcase cover Generator cover Instrument panel Steering lock mechanism Hopefully you won't be plagued in the same way, but worth bearing in mind.
