Levers

  1. I want some levers for my 848 but which ones to go for ? got to be black and not sure on long or short !

  2. I got some Light-tech ones for my 749 - they are beautifully made. Too nice for my trackbike so I put them on my M1100S. These are the same as 848 levers as they fit the standard Brembo master cylinders.
Sharpy had some similar ones for sale a while back - perhaps he still has them?

  3. Www.ducatimondo.co.uk duke1276 had a pair from here for his 996 which I bought him and when he sold that he bought same make for his 848 they are about £28 and are really nice adjustable levers...depends how much you want to spend though, they do the Titax levers too, but they are more expensive! Ducatimondo also sell on eBay

  4. + 1 for Russ at Ducatimondo, he'll give you all the help and advice you need...which doesn't usually end up being the most expensive option.

I put Pazzo shorties on mine and have had absolutely no issues at all with build quality, operation or anything.

  5. Was thinking about pazzo or asv wouldn't go with cheap ones from china

  6. No I wouldn't either....the right hand lever is too important.

But there's loads of people here who are using them and I've yet to hear of any of the chocolate they're made of melting or the anodising rubbing off.

So I suppose you pay your money and take your chance.

  7. Metal tech racing do some nice ones. I'd be interested in which you go for as my levers could do with the personal touch

  8. Pazzo long levers on my 749.

Look good, and do actually feel better than standard. Hard to explain how they feel better, they just seem to feel better

  9. Chinese Chazzo's on my track bike. Had some real abuse and are easily as good as my Pazzo's. I bet they come from the same factory, even the packaging was suspiciously similar...

  10. Nothing to do with the Chinese being masters at copying things then? If you can copy the lever then counterfeiting the packet is simple surely....

  11. Put two side by side and you can tell which are the chinese ones with your eyes closed

  12. Pazzo are quality, got gold stubby on my gixxer, look and feel great, massive choice of colour, size and foldable plus u can have diff colour bits and web site has a `builder` page so u can see what they will look like. mine are gold with black. worth a look if nothing else

  13. I have had Pazzo short levers on my GSXR for 5 years and highly recommend them. They weren't cheap, but the quality is exceptional and they still look like new 18k miles later.

  14. There was an incredibly long, detailed and, dare I say it, almost tedious thread (which I think I started) on the old site about this.

It all boiled down to 2 different camps.
Camp 1 said that Pazzos et al are very nice and very expensive for what they are, but bearing in mind that the brake lever quality is the only thing between you and death, many people cough up and get the real McCoy.

Camp 2 said that cheapo Chinese levers were a fraction of the cost, did the same job, even under racing constraints, and there was no reason not to buy them. There have been no horror stories of them failing.

    So there you have it.

I bit the bullet, fitted Pazzos and they look great. It was an aesthetic thing, not a practical one. The OE levers on the 999 worked fine but looked rubbish. The Pazzos don't work any better but look very cool. I still like branded goods from companies with a reputation to defend when it comes to safety equipment and I'm prepared to pay for it. But quite appreciate the other point of view.

This thread will now run to 30 or more replies debating the same subject. You pays your money (or you don't) and takes your choice.

  16. Nowt wrong with the ones from the far east, had mine on well over a year and done 4500 miles and several trackdays. They are still as good as they day they landed, I have seen more and more people buying them and never heard a bad word. Anything is better than the cast crap that comes as standard.

  17. Would have to agree with ^.
Had several from the far East and no probs. Any issues appear to be from poor adjustment, which of course can occur with the posh ones or the cheapies.
Got mine fro ebay, the 2 wheels, IIRC.

  18. I even had some billet rearsets from the East. Just cant fault them and im still alive (Obviously)

No lever is worth over £100 unless its made from gold or comes with free hooker

  19. Why would you want/need to change the OE levers? Genuine question btw.

  20. The truth.....just to ditch the spare parts bin specials that Ducati fitted.

I only have small hands and usually only use two fingers on the levers too, so I put short levers on. Most of them do have more adjustability than the stock ones to boot, then there's the whole folding lever thing so they don't snap off in an off, but they're more suited for racing and track day stuff, so a minor off don't spoil the rest of your day.
