Ducati 2015 Range - New Prices Announced

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by El Toro, Nov 20, 2014.

  1. Seriously - im sure ive said this before....it looks unfinished, it looks "not Ducati"...why have Ducati done so well recently, they've taken bold steps in styling to differentiate themselves from the competition, their bikes have become over the year IMO simpler - ie, less is more. Styling is easier on the eye eg compare panigale to BMWS1000RR - BMW covered in flaps, vents etc etc - panigale, none of that...

By trying to "bring back the old days" they've tried to use present day tech to make something that looks "40 years ago" and failed. This is my opinion...we'll wait and see - I might be wrong and they sell bucket loads but it doesn't change how I think it looks. In reply to Ronin "I'll ride a bike before I'll dismiss it" I wouldn't ride anything without question if I didn't like the look of it, if it looks like an eyesore but it great to ride - would you ride it/own it?....I know I wouldn't - if im going to buy something in this case a bike - everything has to be right - it has to have the whole package. EG the monster 1200 - I sat on one earlier this year while I was waiting for my hyper to be MOT'd and I would say its probably one of the most comfortable bikes ive ever sat on, reviews are great, ive got no problem with that but for me Im not a fan of the headlight area so for that reason it stops there...its nice, but not for me..

With the scrambler its not nice, and, not for me:) it sounds like a "fightin talk" kind of post but not, just me, kind of set in my ways a little....I will make one admission though - see what people do with them after they've taken delivery and customised - it might sway me but I doubt it...

    • Agree Agree x 1
  2. No, I don't think so

  3. Sheesh. ...tsk. .....you're just not listening!:upyeah:

  4. They look like a scrambler. Nothing more. Nothing less.

If that type of bike doesn't float your boat, then it doesn't float your boat. Shimples :)

  5. You mean 16k

  6. I'm thinking price Increases are a good way of keeping second hand values up ?

  7. Only if you sell privately ;)

  8. 2nd hand is as far as I can go.......

  9. Plus taxes?! Thats a grand...

  10. I'm not sure tbh - I know it's not as simple as me pointing out the bleeding obvious as far as currency exchange goes but there does seem to be some profiteering here.

Even if you used the highest state sales tax (Oklahoma @ 11% and some states are a lot less ) you would still be at US$9544 which is currently £6125 which is £800 cheaper than in the UK.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  11. at that price i would be more interested.

  12. simple then fin. Go buy one, net of any local taxes, and import it.

Will cost you more but hey dont let fact get in the way ;)

  13. sorry dude no cash. but if your mans got his figures right, then some ones getting shafted. but as they say people will only charge/pay what they think they can get away with. and i wont be paying 6500 for old tech.

  14. If you were to buy one in the US for $8599 (net of tax) and imported it into the UK you would pay 6% import tax (commodity code 8711.50.0000) and then HMRC would hit you with a 20% VAT bill making the total cost (US$10,938.00 USD) = £7,020.31 GBP.

  15. So £6800 a bargain then :upyeah:

  16. how much from india.
i can claim the vat back. and i will next time

  17. £6895 :)

But on a country vs country basis we are being shafted albeit it looks like it's the government that's doing the shafting and not Ducati.

  18. If it's cheaper in a EU state you wouldn't pay the VAT :)
