Fitted the stickers today, went on ok and seem to look the correct length. You could also fit the 37cm ones though. I measured 6cm up from the join on the lower fairing and placed some tape along and put the bottom of the sticker just above the tape. Took a photo in the garage, you cannot see the full effect but it gives you an idea,
No, I did think of doing that but after studying loads of pictures of the new 1299 R I thought they looked parallel with the join Of the bellypan, I applied them at 6cm to the bottom of the letters but maybe they could be a half to 1cm lower at the front. Look at different pictures and you can decide as I think the R is actually level with the original badges
Well executed Ian. You just need some guards over those radiators now, before Spring comes around !! The lower one is seriously exposed to all that the front wheel can throw at it and having had a hole from a rock, puncture the oil cooler on my 748SPS some years ago, I learnt the hard (expensive) way.
I've just measured my 'R' panels and The 'Ducati Corse' decal is parallel to the '1199 Panigale' decal (not the join) and is 7cm from the join at the engine end of the panel but just 6cm at the radiator end and starts 2cm from the edge. The overall length of the decal is 36.5cm. Hope this helps
No, my bikes an 'S'. I was looking for some track fairings when I came across a full set of genuine 'R' fairings in Holland comprising of side panels, nose cone and full tail unit. The chap said they were brand new but the side panels had light scratches on them. I managed to get the lot for just under £700 which wasn't much more than the genuine Ducati track fairings. Anyway when they came the scratches are so small and so light I just buffed them out, so I put the the 'R' fairings on the bike and have put the 'S' fairings into storage..........unfortunately I haven't noticed any difference in performance but I'll keep trying!
Yes your correct, in the daylight I had another look and I would drop the front by 1cm to line it up with the logo if anyone is fitting them.
Heres a thread I started a while ago when I fitted my carbon heat shield. If you gonna fit it yourself it might help. How to fit Carbon Heat Shield - or What to do when "Working from Home" | Ducati Forum
I notice the underside of the original heat shield appears to have an alloy shield. Can this be fitted under the carbon cover to avoid discoloration or does it not fit ?
Can you not get to the front bolt on the heat shield without lifting the subframe ? I thought it looked as though you could get in with a flat ratchet.
Yep you can get at all the bolts on the smaller heat shield and probably the big one as well. But if you want to remove it you'll have to lift the subframe for the small heat shield or remove it completely to remove the large heat shield
So the whole subframe needs to come off for he big heatshield to be removed? That's my Boxing Day sorted then
Are u sure that's the correct way round? Not 7cm at rad end and 6 at engine? The angle of the sticker is 8 degrees out if I do that way.
Yes you are right in part, I'll explain as I was measuring from the gear lever side. On the gear lever side it is 7cm from the join at the at the engine side and 6cm at the rad side. However on the brake lever side it is indeed the other way round, 7cm at the rad end and and 6 cm at the engine side. If that makes any sense.
