You're right. Work overtook falconry about two years ago. You'd have to be unemployed or independently wealthy to do it properly. One of the best things I've done, flying falcons at crows for 7 years.
Yes, from the Wiston side. There are a lot of wild raptors round here and a few places that hawk. Rhuallan raptors being one. South Lanarkshire, or at least parts of it, is a hidden gem in Scotland. There is talk of a skiing resort being built just the other side of the M74. Your photo looks like the Clyde just north of Abbington.
