apologies for the almost repeat thread but I am struggling to know what to do for the best. I have a 2014 PP and love it, it currently has almost 9,000 miles and is everything I want now that I have sat on the new Multi and decided I like my PP more. So now that I am keeping it I am going to spend a few quid and remove the cat/replace the exhaust and get it remapped, probably by CJS. I have discounted the full termi system as the can extends back further than the OE and I like the short OE termi slip on. I know that if I remove the cat and use the OE termi slip on it will be too noisy, probably even with db killers. I have looked at full systems and see the MIVV Suono as a possible option as well as the arrow system as they are both said to be road legal so therefore quiet but with the option of a removable baffle. I want something that sounds like a Ducati but without attracting too much unwanted attention, to give you an idea my last bike was a GS with de at headers and an Akropovic end can, I ran it with the baffle and it was fine for me. So that's my situation, has anyone had similar thoughts or experiences and what did you eventually do, also is there something I haven't thought of?
Cut the standard exhaust open and remove the cat, £80. File the heads off the exhaust flap rivets and remove the flap, £0. Sounds better rides smoother and you can keep your short Termi can as I have!
The new MIVV Suono does not have a removable baffle, it is riveted in and is basically a piece of pipe about 10mm smaller diameter than the exhaust pipe and about 40mm long. So not much of a DB killer. With a de-cat, it is way loud, too loud for road use in my opinion. I have removed the baffle in mine (drilled the rivet out) and bought an EBay baffle for it. It now sounds much more sensible.
Leo Vince decat (with in-line baffle) plus LV end can (also with a baffle, removable with one Allen bolt). Nice sound and not too loud.
As far as i know the Leo Vince mts1200 system is no longer in production, although I'd ask the question as someone recently obtained a new system. When looking for my 2013 twin spark PP I found one bike with a cut down termis in St St. Don't forget the full termis has a removable baffle. In the meantime I've done what you intend to do, but had my down pipes ceramic coated black. Cjs to follow in the new year.
Hey you're right. I can find plenty of LV decats but no end cans for the Multi. I know they went out of business for a while but I thought they'd restarted. Nevertheless I would still suggest you consider the LV decat as it was the best design according to CJS. Maybe it could be paired with an alternative end can? In your position I'd give Chris at CJS a call and ask for his views on the best alternative..
Any standard end can will fit the Leo Vince decat pipe. I ran the standard end can for a few months on one.
You could always try the SC projects decat and end can. It comes with baffles and is road legal with them. It is quite loud without. I use mine without and it sounds deep and only loud when giving it some!
Quat D System, sounds the dogs, looks the dogs, 159 BHP at the back wheel! After a CJS remap Brill !!
America, yes. I think there is a European seller on eBay... Works out around £1475 I think, or I'm selling mine on here. Not new though. Not sure if there is a UK distributor anymore.
