  1. Hey guys great forum, I'm new to both the site and Ducati ownership.
This is me on my 998 bip going in to the right hander before kates cottage coming down the mountain on a sunny spring afternoon just before the TT crowds took over the place.
The bikes amazing to ride, I race a moriwaki VTR firestom on short circuits over here and since buying the Ducati I have started to think of it as a nail.
Perhaps I might get a Ducati to race next season.....

  2. Welcome to the forum, went to the TT this year for the first time and already booked for next year, I love the island and relay enjoyed riding the course. Shame there are so many tragedies.

  3. Yeah this year was a bad year as far as the crashes and fatality's goes.
To many riders going way past there limits.
For us that live on this jewel in the Irish sea its only 2 weeks of the year where speed limits are put up around the course.
Rest of the year its de restricted every where but in the towns.
And a Ducati is made to run not dawdle along like a Harley or some other heavy slow ponderous machine.

  4. Welcome on board.

Love the Isle of Man, been around 7 times, but only once with the bike and still not made it to the TT!

The bit of the TT course I most enjoyed riding was the section up round Glen Helen - never really did anything for me in the Scooby, but on the Monster I found it quite rewarding.

  5. Great pic Reg,absolute class:upyeah: Looking forward to the TT next year, I feel a forum get together coming on:upyeah: Welcome to the forum.

  6. Top place to live, respect ! welcome to the forum

  7. Hi and welcome, you have an awesome place to live! Unfortunately I have never been to the island but hope to visit with my bike one day. It won't be during the TT as I don't think I would enjoy riding round with some of the " enthusiastic" riders that would be there ( I'm too old and slow for that).

  8.

Ps Do you know Mark Cavendish?

  11. My first year at the IoM too. I thoroughly enjoyed a week over there for the Southern 100.

I do have a bit of a confession though...

  12. Well....................................................................

  13. My niece's boyfriend is the spitting image of Cav .... but then so are half the lads living on his estate ....... I think it's a 'local' thing

  14. I went on the 1198, as you'd expect. The trip up from Devon is a highlight, across the Severn Bridge then Cwmbran, Aberavenny, Talgarth, Buith Wells, Newtown and Welshpool.
    However, back to the confession.
When I arrived at the B and B my beloved was immediately locked into the owners garage, only appearing for trips round the TT course. Transport to and from the Southern was via a hired Smartcar! The convenience of being able to dump it anywhere, in any field made me quite happy to shell out for the thing. It wasn't the best thing I've every had, but I don't regret it at all! Still managed to get lost though returning to Ramsay...

  15. Being as we have Zero car or bike thefts in the last 5 years I have lived here its no big deal.
I see Mv's and Ducatis left with there keys in out side the local shops.
Must admit i love the place because of the small things like this. oh and the lack of tax is amazing :)

  16. It wasnt the fear of theft, just my natural paranoid nature!
I just wish i knew if i could get time off next year for returning!

  17. Cav the chav?

  18. So I have nothing to worry about bringing the Duke to the TT next year then, no need to carry a massive chain everywhere I go?

  19. No mate a simple steering lock is all you need. disk locks are small and that's about all you need.
Me and my mates over here love to point at the massive chains on bikes going WHY ?
I guess or the trip to the island its worth taking the normal security measures. Just not required once your here.
