I sold my BSA trials bike to raise the funds for my 749. I thought that was it for my off road competition days but, once you get mud in your blood it won`t go away, so....................... I bought this: It`s a bit of a nail if I`m honest but, on the bright side, the engine sounds ok and all the important bits are there. A virtual pint to anyone who can guess what it is.
My initial thought was that it's an OSSA, but I think my best guess is that it's either a Puch or a CZ... Am I wrong ?
Well done that man Fantic 245. Another bike I`ve bought with my heart and not my head. It had been layed up in a barn for god knows how long. It wasn`t as described so I was going to walk away but, my Fantic guru mate reckoned they`re a good bike and, worse case, I could break it and get my money back. Not what I bought it for but nice to know anyway. The kickstart splines are stripped, rear brake doesn`t work, the clutch is dragging and it wouldn`t start. I gave it a wash and it looked better. Then I set to cleaned the coil and all the earths, what a mess. I removed the flywheel cover which exposed some undamaged splines, fitted the kickstart (forwards kicker, very weird) some fresh petrol and, second gentle kick it only goes and start. Good old Ducati Energia electronic flywheel and ignition system. My plan was to "oily rag" it and then ride it but there`s some play in the swingarm bushes so now the swingarm is off and I haven`t even looked at the front end yet.............. Oh yes, some new oil and a clean up of the clutch plates cured most of the dragging, "they all do that sir" is what I`ve since found out. The rear brake had some loose unions and wanted bleeding, what a PITA that was, raising the caliper as high as possible helped with this. How it is now

Nice buy! A trials bike is the one thing still missing from our garage. We got a couple enduro bikes last month and practicing all the trials type riding. I'd like to start doing some extreme enduro events later in the year.
