May be the loss in the faith of God has wider social issues these days. OK religion has caused wars and division through hundreds of years, but at times of hardship it gave some hope. May be Science and medicine doesn't have all the answers. This is all theory, but some theories are just that, theories. Science has a lot to learn, may be the Bible is simply telling us how to better people and treat others and respect everything around you.
Of course science has a lot to learn, of course science doesn't have all the answers. Our descendants in years and centuries to come will, I hope, go on expanding the field of human knowledge. They certainly will do - provided they are not suppressed by religionists first. A speculative, unproven idea is a hypothesis. An idea which has been proved and established to be true is a theory. That is what the words mean - you seem to be unsure.
If I had guessed there was a possibility of increasing my score through chance. Basically what I am doing is making excuses for a dismal result
Science and medicine indeed do not have all the answers, however religion has none of the answers. The bible was written by men and is as full of violence as the men that wrote it.
Well there could be disagreement on the use of isn't rather than wasn't but it will do for a hypothesis.
Yes but how relative is it to his 2/10 score (whilst cheating also, it is a difficult equation indeed)
A speculative, unproven idea is a hypothesis. An idea which has stood the test of time and not been disproven is a theory. That is what the words mean - you seem to be unsure. I agree, your formulation is much better. Any scientific fact is in principle disprovable; it is that which makes them true. Religious assertions are not disprovable in principle, which is obviously what makes them untrue.
