Not moved yet matey. Its shit because most stuff in it gets mouldy after a couple of weeks of sub 10deg temps and doesnt matter what I do it still f**ks everything up. It only gets me down when I start stripping stuff and see what thinks look like umfer the cleaned veneer
huh,, your garage must be a bit like my bike,, shining on the surface and got cobwebs under neath,, took the fairngs off today,, think that is first time in its 8 year history,, mucho wd and rags for tomo
The trick is to reduce the moisture content. The easiest (and most expensive) is air conditioning and / or heating. Just get the air moving will help. I've seen people try to seal a building when all it needs is moving air...the Romans knew this! If you insist on sealing the shed then fit an electrical dehumidifier. You can get a good one for £135. A decent chemical one would be around £250, but it can work all winter in an unheated building. If the room drops below 7-8°C then the electrical one is nearly useless. If you have no electrical supply then you need moving air, with rain getting in.
Got electric, steel roof doesnt help. Have draft thru above the door and should flow thru out the other side but come sub 10deg it gets drippy, hit sub 5 and its like a rain forest dripping off the ceiling.
well i'd get non itchy loft insulation or celtex type stuff, put some batton across to support and fill the gap
Amazon delivered my outdoor Xmas LED lights so i stuck 'em up. I now have a hilariously kitsch house, which is as it should be. The lights shuffle through various cycles of flashing, each more ridiculous than the last. The fun you can have for 15 quid!
Using the wool type loft insulation put this up with a DPM +150g type plastic sheet underneath. Hold this up with wires strung from one end to the other. Because of the shape of the roof you are always going to get a chill effect, lowering the roof temperature. This means water will condensate out on it and drip. Another way is to insulate the outside? Kingspan and the WPB or OSB, then treat it like a wooden shed roof, with felt or shingles.
I'm sure a decent garage is top of the list on your house search , hope you find somewhere soon and get moved
I've just had Santa do a message to my three grandkids. Oh and a bunch of ironing, and it's not even 8.30am
It's only my stuff and a small sacrifice (2 hours every three weeks or so) to doing bugger all else around the house and also being able to get out on the bike whenever I want without getting my head pecked
I said to the wife this lunchtime "I'm going down the pub, get your coat." "That's nice, you gonna buy me a drink?" "No, I'm turning the heating off."
Sat in the car when led its swamped with Eastern Europeans who are proving the immigration policy is fine as it is
If you were to get a really bad cold ... you'd HAVE to take your foot out of your mouth or you'd suffocate. Anyway, further posts on this need to go in the locked thread, where we won't be able to post them. Back on-topic: Today I have mainly shivered, sneezed and dozed. And woken up long enough to read the forums, which I now regret.
