Polisher Wanted For Termi System

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Cupid Stunt, Dec 25, 2014.

  1. Does anyone know of a good polisher in the West Sussex or Surrey area (Gatwick) or 20 mile radius.

I am having a termi system fitted on an 1199s, the thing is I think that heat shield looks an eyesore even when it is carbon, so I was thinking of polishing the exhaust system and removing the heat shield.
    Any suggestions or thoughts?

  2. Donce it has been polished cover it in wd40 and let it dry. Once it heats up it gives it that lovely deep blue look like youve been on a race track.

  3. I need a polisher though Paul, I am at Pro-Twins on the 2nd getting the Panni registered so might ask them if they use anyone.

  4. Id do it but my arm is buggered at the mo :( will take a look at one at Snells see how hard they look, not done a Panni system yet.

You could use a basic mop kit and just do the part you see.

  5. Sent you a reply CS. I see from this thread you are going to Pro Twins. Ask them about "brushing" your exhaust system as an alternative to polishing. It's miles easier to maintain than polishing and makes a big difference to the apoearance.

  6. Thanks for the reply, system has not been fitted yet so I am looking to get it done before it goes on so would like to do the whole system.

  7. Saw the reply and thank you for the advice I have responded :) decisions decisions, but yeah think I will Chat with Brett and see what he advises.

  8. Should be easy to find a metal finisher to sort it, normally I am keen... Some folk on here have posted up bargain priced polishing jobs they have had done, so cheap it's hard to believe! Good luck.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  9. Thanks mate, much appreciated. Going to speak to dealer to see whether they have someone come in and do it, as they currently have hold of my system.

  10. Denne Polishing in Cowfold. They have done 3 exhausts for me. Approx 40 quid and great results.

  11. Cheers Ricky.

  12. Just looked at the services they offer,
    • Brushed Satin Finishing
    • Mirror Polish
    • Bronzing / patinating
    Hmmmmm decisions decisions

  13. stainles is a twat to keep polished. paint it matt black

  14. Been told that brushed looks good and not so hard to keep clean

  15. Never had a problem with stainless and keeping it clean!

I've done a few satin too, use a HDMA mop or scotchbright mops, simple, this is some before and after.

Oh and for 50 quid, Id give my polishing up, like to see what they are like, people have different ideas of polished. Polished is mirror finnish with ZERO marks, shiny is just shiny!
