  2. Looks like they nicked your idea and modified it a bit to avoid any possible patent infringement! You did apply for a patent didn't you? Lol

  3. That was exactly my first thought...
Should have posted before now, just been too busy to get on the forum as often as I'd like.
A day or two after I posted above I got a response to my email to the Director of CNC Racing assuring me that their own design team developed their guard.....yes just a coincidence. Seems like a decent guy, we ended up 'chatting' over the space of a dozen or so emails on various subjects including 'theft' of ideas/designs etc...apparently a number of their products have been blatantly copied.

Moving on, if you're after something a bit more substantial to protect that vulnerable front cylinder head valve cover check out these (I've dealt with Rob before...his products are good quality items;-)

  4. mind me asking.....does the guard clash with altriders header guard if both are fixed on together?need advise...thx..

  5. No experience of that combination but looking at images of the Altrider guard (by the way SW Motech make a VERY similar guard) I would imagine it would be no problem to fit both (the locating plate section of Rob's valve cover guard would just slide between the head and the Altrider plate)....may need slightly longer bolts that screw up into the underside of the cylinder head? May also need a washer between the Altrider guard lower fixings and the sump guard to match the width of Rob's guard inserted on the upper fixings?
Worth a go....if there is any issue you can always sell on Rob's guard here;-)

.....if both fit, post a decent photo ;-)

  6. I've got the SW motech one and would like to see both fitted. My cylinder head is starting to get a little peppered from stones etc.

  7. From Rob (cylinder head/valve cover guard above): "... If the guy who was asking about fitting with the altrider header guard wants to try it mate it's not a problem, if it doesn't work he can always send it back and have his money back"

    Couple of alternatives:

Motorcycle Info Pages - 'How to' & FAQs > Andy's Custom MTS1200 bits! (head guard)

and the Palmer Products version: http://www.palmerproducts.co.uk/accessories/select-bike/ducati-ms1200/

    and another DIY version:

  8. Well after a visit to a guy selling rather large but very practical top plate racks it turns out he is the one they call Rob:). Very quickly noticed the header guards in his garage and thought mmmmm will they both fit and rest assured they do.
Andy I know you were after high res however Saturday night dim garage iPhone shots will have to do for now...

Rob really is a top guy and would have total faith in any eBay transaction.
I'm now ready to go to Italy in October large top plate attached easily with 4 bolts and old sports tail pack I have fits very nicely
