Which dealer / workshop would you rate for a solid 900SS IE service and check over in Surrey or Hants (preferably Hants)? And roughly what should I expect to pay (this is assuming there are no problems)? Bike has done about 2,700 miles and has only had the first service at 620 miles. Bike is new to me so hence the check over (factory updates etc). Thanks.
Thanks will avoid them! Used search but couldn't find anything beyond people rate W. M. Snell in Alton Hants so am considering them. Wondered if there were more options.
Both motorapido and snells are great main dealers. may have winter labour rates on and bear in mid dealer means replace not repair normally, so bills tend to be higher. Have used Gary Teague out Eastleigh way. Did a good job on my old monster
Search the Multistrada thread. Up to the last service I'd swear by him. The last £1100 woth of work was laughably bad and the response even worse. Others have waded in with similar. If I can find it I will post. If you are going to pay main dealer prices (and his are) you might as well get the appropriate access to parts and warranty.
I've also heard great things about Motorapido. Snell's recently did some warranty work on a MTS1200 for me. Work was fine, however the 2000 mile demonstrater lent to me for free had not received any attention. Noisy, tight rear chain with zero lubrication. No interest from the guy that handed it over, so I wouldn't go back....yes..for that reason a!one. Ducati servicing is expensive and I rightly expect it to be 100%, I'm funny like that.
Ive never before heard a bad word said about Snells, clearly everyone has a bad day. I drive by Motorapido to get to Snells.
I normally use Snells for servicing. I bought my 696 Monster there new, other half bought his Diavel there new and we take those bikes plus his 695 Monster there for servicing. Generally very good but not flawless (I had an irritating minor electrical gremlin which they were unable to sort which my electronic engineer husband managed to fix in the end). I've also had a couple of good experiences with Moto Rapido (needed work doing urgently and Snells couldn't fit me in, but Moto Rapido came to the rescue at short notice). My Monster is due a service in 500 miles and will be booking it into Snells again.
expensive service, replaced new things like pads and brake fluid 200 miles old, did fix what it went in for, had the bike 10 days and when i went to collect it told me i had a failed fork seal! Told me the gear sensor replacement was a gear box strip down job and very vague and evassive when i complained...so I'm never going back. Used for 10 years before that.
If its out of warranty, I'd be using @arthurbikemad place near Liss.. Cant remember name of his business
I didn't know that was where he was based? Next time I'm in Petersfield I'll make an appointment and pop in.
I've found the reclamation yard his family own but couldn't find his workshop! Lol best to get directions
