Probably a bad idea to ride a lightweight 1200cc bike that produces 155BHP then! I find my emotional need for the thrills I get when I ride excessively powerful bikes, albeit more judiciously these days, curiously incompatible with my desire to not to end up mangled (again). But there's nothing like a near-death experience to encourage one to wring every last ounce of pleasure out of life. I was back on my Jota - much to the chagrin of my parents who'd spent Christmas sitting by my bed in intensive care - within three months of emerging from the coma. Tempus fugit - so keep gathering those flaming rosebuds while you still can has been my motto ever since.
I have an 02 R1 on the road at the moment but was thinking of putting my Land Speed Record Hayabusa on the road for a bit. Trouble is I don't feel scared of it and I should 1300cc / 440 RWHP
Oh dear! Best of luck. I'm on nine points and don't have anywhere near as many horses on tap. Maybe always riding two-up is the answer. Pillion poo is a useful additional right-wrist restraint.
Definitely. And concentration. Most riders would benefit from that. Trouble is it's easy to miss a camera when you're riding quickly in heavy city traffic concentrating on avoiding cars.
Actually I didn't. I made no comment about the cleanliness of your licence or otherwise. Just wished you luck in avoiding future problems!
Funnily enough, I had a clean licence before I bought the ST. Moved to a Multi because I thought its longer wheelbase would make it less agile and help me slow down in town... wrong!
I'm quite restrained in town these days, its the open A and B roads in Yorkshire where I find it hard to control myself and the bike too...
I find it best to let loose on the continent - at least they can't endorse your licence or ban you, even if the fines can be quite eye-watering I believe. Best thing about living in the South-East, from a biking point of view, is the ease with which you can get there. Just over an hour to the Chunnel, forty minutes on the shuttle and BĂ©rnard's your uncle! Not had any fines yet but there's always a first time.
That fist pic is of a guy on this forum, Rodney. Not sure how often he drops in now, but I might see him tomorrow Funnily enough he sold that mts and has a gs (or at least had one for a while). Most bikes are far more capable than the riders, or rather most riders reach their specific level of risk well before they get to the bikes limits.
