It seems to have split into about 4 parts: a grammar thread, a wine one (woefully ill-informed it should be said in passing) and bits of a Scottish one. Pity, I was rather enjoying the original one. Any chance of getting back on topic and starting the other threads you want to discuss separately?

Wrong. We are mocking a fairy tale, an unproven belief, not an individual or an individual's manner, speech pattern or appearance. It is different. What if I say I am offended if you mock, say Richard Dawkins? Does that mean that I should be able to prevent you doing so? Of course not. And I think you're Australian. Suppose I say that the Aussie cricket team are a bunch of cheating, sledging idiots? Is that off limits? Should you not be allowed to call us whingeing Poms? Of course you should. i agree the aussies are a bunch of cunts. and yes you do make sense to a degree. but as i said earlier just because some one chose their faith (as you chose you wife) does not mean that it is fair game for public ridicule. am drunk an not able to make the best argument when sober but if you want to know what i really think look left
Most of my posts are longer than one-line insults, so inevitably mistakes will creep in as I type at speed to keep up with posters' razor-sharp ripostes and responses. But I edit them pretty quickly, which is more than some people do when they use completely the wrong words!
