A little bit of thread creep is OK but come on people. Maybe there should be a chat room for those that want to carry on conversations.

"Insulting people's religion" should be kept to religious threads. Mind you, "insulting" isn't very useful. It's OK to say what you think about it though. If people find that insulting, maybe they should grow a thicker skin or not read those threads.
personally I don't think insulting people is ever a very good or clever idea,, but I guess I am in a minority on here.
I can't see where anyone has insulted someone's religion. But then that is part of the theme of the thread - the sensitivities of people towards a religion and the licence they think that gives them to do something radical (and murderous) about it. It would be interesting to hear your views on this - probably best on the thread in question. A forum is an exchange of views (hopefully in a civil manner - although the Charlie thread seems to be struggling with this concept at the moment). You expect to disagree with people, otherwise there is no debate.
It is struggling but I think everyone agrees to be fair. That is on the main point of the fundamentalist nutters just being sick bastards. But...... people must wonder why so many follow the Muslim way when you start reading about it - it's baffling and dumbfounding to understand why when you read a little of what the fundamental principles of the religion are about. Anyone not agree? If not then lets turn this thread into a debate
The trouble with forums is that they're frequented by humans, people with wildly differing views on everything, so it's impossible to strike a happy medium. Unless they're being particularly rude or insulting there's little you can do about it, but the obvious thing to do is to try another thread... For me, the only thing that annoys me is people who lambast newbies. Give 'em a chance ferchrissakes.
