Over the last month or so everyone and his brother are wearing superdry branded vintage/aged style tees. They don't seem to signify anything in particular having a bit of a japanese/racing theme. They're not cheap, or expensive but to me look like designs primark would come up with. Can any of you followers of fashion tell me whats going on please.
I'd originally assumed it was some sort of promotional wear from a Japanese beer brand but later learned that it is apparently a British company founded by the son of the Dunkerton cider family: Julian Dunkerton: People just love the cut of his cloth |Observer profile | From the Observer | The Observer
Well thanks for calling this 44 year old a kid I love some of the stuff but there's lots I wouldn't give drawer space to.
Interesting link, thanks Mrs C. With a % of their designs motorsport flavoured, some kids might get interested which is good in my book.(and much better than footy regalia).
Superdry is pretty good really. Its similar to A&F or Hollister type of gear, the Tees are pretty decent and soft, it's just comfy urban wear really and as mentioned British.
You can bet that some rapper was wearing the gear in some shite video. That's all you need to launch a clothing brand these days.
Interesting article, thanks Mrs C_772. Not sure I agree about not having a sharp intake of breath at prices, I had a major one last year at a pair of their boots I bought my son but...the stuff lasts. He started wearing their teeshirts 3 to 4 years ago and they're still good. The boots get worn all year round when he rides into Uni. but they're not even scuffed from the gear changer.
It's supposed to be Japanese not American. You're right about the fit though. I bought a super dry polo shirt 2 years ago whilst on my honeymoon when I had lost a few pounds for the big day. It seems to have shrunk considerably now though and makes me look a little fat. Good quality shirt though but it does seem like every kid is wearing it which puts me off buying more.
I've got Superdry T-shirts, they were bought for me as a present. Normally xl size stuff fits, but apparently in Superdry sizes I need xxxxxxl...
