They could have been sold and exported. They could have been recorded on V5 as 999s Mono in black. As Exige said a bit of how bike is registered is down to a dealer. Maybe cause yours is registered on V5 as RED I know right. 03/04 is plentiful especially when summer starts/ends. 05 and up there is almost none. Black one's do show up but a red 999s mono or yellow is very very rarely for sale. I know they are great bikes.....
Check this out: £8750 for a 2005 999s Nero BiPosto... they must be having a laugh. I paid £6,600 for my Mono Nero about three years back. Looks fairly original at least - apart from the levers - but blimey, that's way too expensive!
Frankly if it had full termi system as well as monoblocks I would say it would be a fair price at 8.2 - 8.4 max (assuming one would get full service and 6 months or even 12 months warranty).
Radial Calipers on all 999s from 05/06. The Nero has no special parts other than being shipped with the Assymetric Termi and DP Ecu. Aside from that and the Black paint on the fairing and frame it's just an 'S'.
Full Termi system would be worth £1,000 maybe but there's no mention of a full system in the Ad. Saying that, that downpipe looks pretty big and fat, so maybe it is a full system? Still reckon it's not worth any more than £7k.
I m no expert ( )but I would say that exhaust looks a bit thicker than the standard and more like termi ( which I have on mine ) where it passes the swing arm.. ( photo not too clear )
Are you confusing monoblocks with Radials? All later 999s had Radial calipers, but they weren't monoblocks (ie: machined from a single piece).
I have not thought about that as did not know Radial was standard on 05 up bikes. Good point. Those bikes did not loose much on value of anything, especially the 05 models and up. Full Termi system for them is worth a grand, maybe bit more so 7.5k would be good price for that bike if 12 months warranty maybe 7.8
You know what is funny the ugly bike is winning 2nd hand market for sure: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...01/postcode/ha90bu/quicksearch/true?logcode=p
Full system only worth having if you tune the ECU to suit it, so I'd want to find out about that... Otherwise, budget £4-500 to get it tuned?
I think you're right - values of the 999 are holding up well - especially for un-molested later bikes with Ohlins / Termi.
Frankly if I were to get a 999s I would want standard pipe or at best termi slip-on to get me going until I would get zard exhaust.
