  3. I have a 1098 and a 748sps the later bike is a lot comfier not such a stretch to the bars and you legs will be less cramped

  4. 848. Next question.

  5. Facing facts, you're choosing between two excellent bikes... either will attract admiring looks, make wonderful noises and deliver pleasure in spades.

For me the 748 has a timeless look, and came out at a time when there was nothing that money could buy that looked better, until then I always hankered after an RGV250SP because it was purposefully pretty, punched way above its weight and sounded like nothing else... the 916/748 incorporated some of the little design touches I liked so much on that bike and turned up the volume in every area. Plus it was Italian, exotic and beautifully detailed. Even now I find myself appreciating it from new angles, and cannot see any part of it that looks clunky or that has dated badly. Even elements like the analogue clocks are saved by their esoteric green tacho and foam rather than carbon surround.

The 848 is a fine thing, but my heart leaps when I see a 916/996/998/748 :)

  7. welcom dude...love my 748 to bits and will never part with her.. but like every one seems to be saying, i think the 848 would better suit your needs.. dont agree with the 848 being better looking though... its a bit like saying a left tit is better looking than a right....

  8. Put an 848 engine in the 748 :Bag:

  9. The 748 is undoubtedly the most beautiful bike and (I've owned mine for 6 years) a bastard to ride in town.

Plus, the 748's have bottomed out on price (and may be on the up in the near future), whereas the 84something hasn't got the va va voom and will no doubt have greater scope to lose value

  10. depends which one's bigger

  11. I bought my 848 in 2008, I sold it in 2011 3yrs later for 6,500 hadn't lost that much in value over 3 yrs :)

  12. When you have decided which bike its then which colour,
    848,Very Fast red
    Stealth black
    Crispy white
    748 ,Very Slow red
    Even slower yellow,
    :D:D:)
I have an 848, very fast red but would love a 748 even slower yellow also, just got to keep telling mrs road trip i need one,
Good luck in your choice, both good bikes,

  13. Can't comment on the the 748 as I've never ridden one but the 848 is more than enough bike for me. Came from owning blades for the last decade and would never go back after having had this one!

BTW, you'd be even happier if you got your hands on the classy looking white one. May not be the fastest, according to some but is the most elegant looking. Just thinking about time spent in your shed. ;)

  14. ride both, view many, now is the time to buy.
Compare conditions and prices as appropriate.
    Enjoy the search, :upyeah:

  15. You forgot the, uber slow, Titanium Grey ;)

More commonly known as the one finished in primer, or more affectionately, the galvanized bucket.
