How do you base prices on stuff that doesn't come up for sale that often, as far as I now anyway? Sounds like i'm bitching at your comment, but it's a serious question. I was interested in the 1098 rs rad and coolant pipe things they had a while back. So if anyone knows of any being sold... wink wink
You will be better off with a standard 998 or 999 rad, as this has the provision to run fans, if you are using it as a road bike. The 1098rs rads have no way of fitting fans and are an expensive option that you don't need to take.
I don't think he is a member but I know he deals with certain members on this forum on a personal basis.
But RS sounds much better than "standard" on a spec list. Or am I just being a tart? Plus spending money I don't have on bits I don't need make this damn virus i've got more bearable...
There will also be issues fitting the air tube on the left side with a 1098rs rad. As the tube wont sit in place due to the smaller pipes on top of the rad. I am all for fitting fancy parts but you have to ask what you want to achieve. You will need fans for the road you cannot fit them in with a 1098rs rad. How do ii know? Im trying to fit one to my 748/1098 Oh and a 1098rs swingarm
Yeah, i agree with F_E above, and something I've found out on my 996sps was you can't generally put just one RS part on. They usually need other RS parts to get them to fit/work. Like the air tubes mentioned. I run a fanless race radiator though and apart from needing to go faster if it starts getting hot, and turning it off if you're going to be stopped a while, I don't have any trouble.
