1200 Extended Warranty To End

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Twin4me, Jan 22, 2015.

  1. I got this from P&H just now, looks like if you have a new bike and want to buy the extended warranty you will need to be quick (or wait and see what the alternative option is going to be)

    Do you own a Ducati?
We have just been informed by Ducati that they have made the decision to withdraw the Extended Warranty program with effect from Monday 26th January. This means that we can sell extended warranties up until Saturday 24th January.

We understand that Ducati are looking to introduce an alternative program but at this point we have no information. As soon as we have more news we will let you know.

  2. Was just going to post the same news.
Mines one year old so can't purchase any extension until the bike is 18 months old.
Would presume a replacement product will be available by then.

  3. Bloody better be - the idea of owning an Italian bike full of complex electronics, without some sort of factory support is not in the least appealing.

  4. I have mine already, I did a deal with the dealer when I bought the bike and got it throw in for free, it was only 5 months old and they managed to extend the warranty before 18 months had passed.

Not sure if the 18 month clause is hard and fast!

  5. It's obviously biting them in the arse. I know I did OK from an extended factory warranty. Saved me about 2k... Phew!

  6. I thought the rule was that you had to have purchased it before it was 18 months old?
    I did this with mine...

  7. I had this conversation with Nick from Snells not too long ago. You can purchase it anytime in the first 23months of original ownership.

  8. It is quite clear that anyone who doesn't have it should buy it tomorrow. As said above, on average it must be costing them - not good odds!

  9. Is it ending on every bike? My 1199 is only 6 months old so was planning to extend it.

  10. I would work on the premise that it is all models if no definitive answer comes - what would it say to Mutley owners if it was just on their particular models :Wideyed:

  11. I'm not brave enough or had the bike long enough to know if it's a good un.

Suppose if I didn't take one out it'd give me an excuse to swap it in 2 years

  12. Buy the new one? ;)

  13. Out of curiosity, should I have received anything from Ducati Italy if i bought a third year warranty?

Got my receipt from the dealer and bought it back in November.

  14. My bike is now aproaching 22 month old,How do I apply for the extended warranty? Is it via the dealer or do I need to apply on line and how? Cheers in advance

  15. I didn't have to wait 18 months? I bought my extended warranty when I paid for the bike.
And Mr Duke63 I got a certificate and a book telling me what was and wasn't covered by it.
In my opinion it's wide open to interpretation

  16. Happy - you usually buy this through the dealer.

By the way I didn't want to scare everyone by posting this - I'm sure Ducati (backed by Audi) will be offering some sort of new extended warranty program, when they get their act together.

  17. Hi peeps how much have you been paying for your extended warranties.

  18. It has been extended to two years. But today may be the last day ...

  19. £299
