  8. I went out for a trudge in the snow. It's been snowing quite a lot over the past few hours. It was very beautiful and I saw a lot of fox and deer tracks, but no foxes or deer. I am now completely knackered (heavy snow boots, thickish snow, hilly country). A ramrod stiff G&T (drunk) and liver with sage and onion (after my shower). Then I shall vegetate in front of the box. Result!

  9. Er, yes. That is of course true. The answer I was looking for is that the fan has two live feeds, a permanent live and a switched live (from the bathroom light). The voltage on the switched live feed triggers the fan to come on, and the permanent live feed is used to power the fan after the light is switched off, for a period determined by the adjustable timer. Simples!

  10. Yeah I know, I've fitted loads of em.

  11. You're probably not as excited about that as I am then...! :Angelic:

At the moment I'm massively chuffed anytime I switch something on and it actually works.

  13. For your next challenge wire up a two way lighting circuit with 2 intermediate switches showing 4 lamps. Schematic drawings are acceptable.

  14. I was exactly the same when I replaced all the light fittings and switches in my house.

  15. We have done two two-way switches and an intermediate, controlling two lamps. And I remember that being a bit confusing...! I'll have a think about it. :)

  16. I do have another, but for some reason I tend to just wash and replace that one..

  17. They are in the process of moving. Watford was still open last weekend, but I believe the St Albans store opens very soon.

  18. I have two lights in my living room and I'd give a tenner to someone who could arrange for them to be switched separately instead of the single switch

  19. If the 'permanent live' is permanently live, then the fan must be on ... well ... permanently.

Did you mean a switched live and a timed live?
