  7. Thank you kind sir-nice e-card!

This evening I shall mostly celebrate with a schooner of Lustau East India Solera, whilst making some venison meatballs( venison shot by my brother) , moving on to a modest bottle or two of Butcombes finest ale....whilst the spaghetti cooks to al dente. Main course then accompanied by a choice of an NZ Pinot noir (Two Rivers, if you ask) or a Shiraz from Franchshoek. Dessert might be accompanied by a Balvenie, I think. Maybe Dalwhinnie.

Tomorrow I am tempted by a lunch in the Cotswolds , nice country pub, open fire and splendid lunch. The Rattlebone Inn, in Sherston is looking odds on favourite !

All taking place with excellent company, of course.

P.s. The birthday weekend started brilliantly, with a schlep to London to cook a nice meal for my mum, friday eve, and then lunch Saturday. Then I cleaned her drains and did a few other nice birthday chores..... The return journey highlighted by a motorway closure...

  14. We rode (bicycle) around chew valley lake this morning riding from A friends house in Paulton. It was cold as it was windy. There were little snow flakes falling.
Came back, walked the dog, lit the fire, ate, now watching TV and on this site.
