There always seems to be negative points raised about the bikes which do help us all check out our own bikes etc but thought perhaps we should also hear some positive comments about multistrada ownership ie year of bike, mileage, performance, reliability and any comments about the very few or no issues experienced. I'm beginning to wonder if I made the right choice coming from ktm to ducati!
I F'ing love my 2013 skyhook multi with full termi system. I know how good it is that I don't care what people think.
I've ridden a KTM but never owned one so this isn't my personal experience. However a very good friend of mine had one for a couple of years, from new. He was invited to the AA and dealers service dept xmas parties two years running.
This was my first Ducati, but I'd previously had 2 Aprilia's so I understood what the 'Italian experience' was like. I've had a number of issues on my 2011 bike, but Ducati have felt with all of them with good grace under the warranty (and even goodwill repairs), unlike April. This is still one of the best bikes I've owned, I enjoy it every time I ride it and I would still buy another.
I,ve had the usual well documented issue with my 2011 and a few teething issues with my 2014 MTS but I still frigging love it, wouldn't swop it for anything else out there. Only bike I,ve had in 30 years which genuinely always puts a big smile on my face every time I ride it.
Exactly what I was going to say. I loved my KTM's - and might even go back to an 1190SMT when they release it. I spent big numbers on tuning, Akro's & farkle to get the bikes just so. Here and now though - I love the Multi, it's different to the SMT and better than the Adv's - a better all round bike. My first Ducati too. Happy camper
Brilliant bike had 2 looks great rides great no real problems only minor recall and looked after by my dealer Smc
I've got a Twin Spark Pikes Peak and an 1199 Panigale and never had any real problems with either of them. The Pani is just special and the PP is the best point to point bike for all weathers that i've ever ridden, i was going to upgrade it to the new 2015 model but have now decided to invest in M4 Brembo's and a Translogic Quickshifter instead. Happy Days
A big + 1 I still can't belive how well they corner at high speed and still lift the front powering out. BIG grin with some screaming. ......
 Even with virtually all of the 'usual' irritating recall issues including the godforsaken EXVL, from my point of view, it's quite simply the most comfortable, fun bike to ride I've owned. Cap that with a great bunch of like-minded, Ducati "nutters" on here and Multistrada.net and what else does a biker boy need
2002 750ss had no issues 1st 749 2004 model registered 2005 had one issue - pull clutch in and bike would just die intermittent stalling Ducati replaced it with another 749 2nd 749 2005 model no issues 848 - 08 plate immobiliser wire from ignition broke replaced under warranty no other issues 848 Evo 2011 plate 2.5yrs ownership and no issues and did 12,000 miles 848 Streetfighter 62 plate still under my ownership no issues and done 10,000 miles 899 63 plate 7,000 miles no issues 1199s 400 miles so far and nothing to report. All had one thing in common though, the huge grin they put on my face every time I rode em.
My experience with Ducati ST4, had a new clutch supplied FOC by DUK Panigale has had its clocks changed Multi - nada All great bikes, my BMW K1300S had plenty of recalls, all done during planned servicing, except the switch gear and Lambda sensor
Other than the Ohlins rattling forks issue, that was more annoying than a real problem, bubbling paint on the rad and the current fuel sensor issue that I still haven't sorted, Mutley has been brilliant. It truly is a one bike fits all machine. 13000 miles and three European tours later I'm still lovin' it Having said all that I did head off a shed load of potential problems early on with the EXVL by fitting a decat and pipe and low speed fuelling issues by having it mapped by CJS?
:Bag: Bling what.......exactly? I couldn't possibly comment, at least without incriminating myself that is.....:Yuck:
