Fighting A Losing Battle

  1. ACF50 acts as a barrier between surface ,and the elements , i put a complete coating of acf50 , after a full deep clean , then just let the acf50 do its work your bike will look shit but the barrier remains in place . Although chain and downpipes need adding to with acf50 :upyeah: Be brave and trust the stuff it's excellent :upyeah:

  2. I don't blow the acf50.

To clarify bike was covered in acf before a wheel was turned.

If I ride home in rain or slushy roads I get the hose and rinse the crap stuck to front and other exposed areas. Then I blast the water off with leaf blower.
Then wipe dry with a cloth.

That all takes 30 minutes mac when I do it.

Every night I wipe over the metal parts with a rag soaked in acf50.

Again I'm not blowing the acf off.

I have a 2009 thruxton caked in acf50 I wash it once twice a year maybe and its sparkling after a clean.

  3. There ya go then, don't wash the Duc so often.

And before you edited your post you wrote that your 675 was mint, but you didn't have the leaf blower then...I rest my case.

  4.
  5. well i bollocksed that up but as figaro says :D

  6. Yeah only got leaf blower last October.

Will leave it now until march see how I get on with it.

  7. Sounds like I'm having a go but I'm really not. Just trying to help you enjoy your bike for longer.

  8. I appreciate all the comments.
I'm not moaning Im just equally surprised disappointed its only took 3 months to get like that. I could have accepted it after a year or so.

  9. I have had mine for just under a year and to be honest I have no where been so clinical cleaning it like you have been,

Like I said in another post I have let it sit covered in road and rain muck. will be giving it a full valet at the weekend so I will see what mine looks like compared to yours will get some pics for you

  10. I've currently got the same issue with all the fixings on mine, bikes a year old now covered 4k cleaned when dirty and protected with ACF50, Bango bolts, caliber bolts, valves, wheel spacers, brake lines and now the paint is flaking off the fork legs, pretty hacked off to say the least

  11. panigale is not for winter, the finishes will never last a winter, they are exotic and beautifully designed.
they are not durable in salty conditions, think about the wiring, and all the places you cant clean!
if you can afford a panigale, you can afford a second bike for winter, and shitty weather,
if you wont compromise, you will be looking for a new one in 24 months.

  12. 4K?

That's a bit much for a prestige bike I reckon...

  13. Utter bollocks. It's a motorbike, that's all, it ain't the crown jewels. Modern bikes are far better quality than the shite I used to ride in the '70's and '80's, but there's one big difference - they used to be transport, now they're status symbols. And people suddenly get OCD over the fucking things. Stop cleaning it and ride the damn thing; all the time your jetwashing, soaping, blow-drying and storing the bike, it's festering away. Get on it, ride the sodding wheels off it.

Where's @Android when you need him? He's been to the moon and back on his multi, he'll tell you what's good and what's shit

  14. That's what it's for, I've also got a triumph street triple R, it's 2 years old with 7k and there's not a mark on it

  15. If it said that in the sales brochure I would have steered clear. Mine is my everyday transport. Fuck spending £13k on a garage ornament.

  16. I Have 2 other bikes
One is Sorn in the garage ( Note to self ) must find new radiator for it
and the other is ready to go and has been for some time - yet when I think hmm I will take the supermoto today perfect winter weather for it I always end up on the panigale

These are not garage ornaments these are Motorcycles - Look at the boys running these in the Ducati tri options cup in all weather, moto gp riders in the rain etc etc

    get out and ride it

Now if it was a Desmo that would be a different story

  17. If only for sunny days what is rain mode ??

  18. Rain mode is for when you wash the bike - it lets you know the ground can be slippy when you push it back in the garage

  20. Doesn't matter whether you ride it or not, just stop cleaning it every two minutes.
