  1. Edging closer to finished now. Its always good to get stickers on a bike! Might even wheel it outside again in better light.

  9. Looking good Al :upyeah:

  10. Where did you get your vinyl from?

  11. What parts where actually painted? Just the tank? And did you rattle can it in the end?

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  12. The tank is stripped to bare metal with wrap on the top then lacquered. The lacquer didn't stick too well to the vinyl so I've taken that off but it looks good on the bare metal. I got a green Scottish pad on the metal before laqcuering to give a brushed finish.

    Fairings are all rattle canned

  13. I like it. Makes me think how I can strip all the relentless stickers off my fairings, which are matt black, and have some big decals made

  14. Big and bold @bradders.....just like you :upyeah:

I did get a quote to spray the fairings but they wanted 5/600 quid for a single colour on prepped panels.....I didn't think they wanted the work somehow :D

  15. Go big, go hard or go home. Simple :upyeah:

Thinking I may have to get your help on any wrapping tho..patience is something I only have in work

  16. Sure. Will have to catch up when you're back from Cartagena :upyeah:

  17. I got mine from ebay as well.
I got orange carbon fibre effect for the tank on my off road bike. Its been a sorry tale from start to (still not) finished.
I got enough to wrap the tank twice. My effort was, to be honest, an absolute mess. I took it to a local firm that does vehicle wrapping and their effort wasn`t much better. They said the vinyl I`d bought was crap.
I`ve left them to try again with some free tecwrap vinyl I was sent in error, it`s not quite the shade of orange I wanted but it`ll do.
Really wish I`d just painted the bloody tank now, I thought a vinyl wrapped tank would be a bit different...............sigh!!!

  18. The eBay stuff isn't nearly as good as the Hexis stuff I've had before. Less tacky and more prone to bubbles. The Hexis stuff you could just stretch and stretch to cover big curves etc. The eBay stuff is fine for flat surfaces and designs and is about a third of the cost!
