Sunny and warm today. Started the evo, just sitting on that bike feels nice. Roads are a bit damp and white with salt on the dry bits. So, took the versys I use for commuting to work, out for a spin around the towns. Loads of bikes out, hardly one road I went down that didn't have a bike on it. Obviously the sun has brought them out of hibernation. I gave up on giving nods, people just ignored me. First day that its felt like summer is on its way, whatever that may bring.
It's called "small talk", Pete. It's what you do in the first minutes of a meeting in reply to "How's it going?". This is considered the way to begin. It was even more the way to begin as my partner was still in his car and Facetiming me. This is a suboptimal place to start an important business meeting.
I've done a shed load of ironing and done most of my packing for my trip to the States this week. I also watched the footy this afternoon and played my ukulele for a bit, as well as dipping in and out of here. Tomorrow evening we are going to see the stage version of Phoenix Nights in Manchester
Played my Epiphone Casino guitar a bit and went to the gym. Going to the gym is a bit of a faff, and it's not much fun. But you feel so good afterwards that it's all worth it. (And if it keeps you out of hospital...).
Ah. Some folks really go for the small talk, others not so much. I wonder if there is a course for it - "How to do small talk"?
I can teach you. But my rates are pricey. But here's my free tip starter: Think of something you are really interested in that the person could answer. So, if "What have you been up to this morning?" is not actually at all interesting for you, try and find something else. It is normally considered poor form to ask something like "Why did you marry your wife?", even if you'd quite like to know the answer. The secret to all conversation is to have real interest in what the other person has to tell you. People love you being genuinely interested.
been out every weekend since xmas on the wr green laning and generally having a hoot. so was out all day yesterday on the Plain....15 of us for 5 hours straights enough for me. i'm getting better and more confident again after a long lay off. love it. I can see a new Ktm gracing my garage this year
That's why they are called con-sult- ants....just add " in" and a " c " and you'll get the hidden meaning? Of course I don't mean any one on here!
I did a Track and Trail day about 4 years back on Salisbury plain, great day out. Got shouted at by the army a few times as they had manoeuvres that day. Tanks, helicopters, men in full kit lying in the long grass, made it even more exciting.
Out on the bicycle this morning, good ride out towards Broughton Gifford. Lovely day, perhaps should have gone out on Motorbike? And...Why do people feel the need to light a bonfire on the first warm day? When the neighbours have washing out and windows open??? We'd need a bit of room in the Garage so the 749 is now tucked up on the dining room. Watching top gear.
nice there, my grandad lived there on the common. years of riding on the plain, and around Bath etc. we'll be going further afield soon aswell. fancy a 350 exc-f 6 day
