No nitrous mate, just lots of work and a shed load of money, last engine cost me £1400 , you need two, maybe three engines a season, racing isn't cheap, if you want the easy option go and buy a honda, me? I like pain and doing things the hard way, after all, why are you on the ducati forum? Go and buy a japper if you want an easy life, I take exception to you saying my mz race bike is hideous, I reckon it looks pretty cool me.........
this was my second bike. i was 16 and the local bike gang (highway 61's) thought i was a dude as i wasn't on a japper. i wished i was! but it was a cool blue smoker
That isn't too bad. Almost looks like an old Honda. A mate's Dad had one of these. The gear shifter was also the kick starter.
so was the kick start on mine.. i rebuilt it aged 17 manged to get the coil leads round the wrong way and had 4 reverse gears... my mates dad (a hells angel and a bike mech) came over to help me get it going. we tried to push start it for ages before he said put it on the main stand and kick it.. it started, clicked it in gear and had reverse... true story
True. Although 95% of all fairing sold in that era were hideous and most bikes were sold without fairings. Made for a lot of hideous bikes.
Absolutely. The bike looks like a single cam CB 750, or perhaps a 550. All the single knocker Honda fours were good looking bikes. Why on earth would anyone want to mutilate one in such a way? It should be an endorsable offence, like sticking a top box and a leopard skin seat cover on a 916.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the case for the prosecution.... The Ariel Ace...... As for the Versys, a mate's brother bought one, I thought his previous Versys was butt-ugly....... boy, they trumped that one all right...
Well trellis frame (kind off), single sider anyone who likes 916 has to love this My favourite touch is how you can see that at last moment someone decided seat would be a good idea.
