Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by did, Feb 10, 2015.

  1. Hi All
Thought Id share this with you guys....
Ive just ordered a full Ventureshield paint protection kit for £55.00 plus £4.99 delivery for my 848 seems a good price to me as these usually retail around £90 mark.
Looks like a lot of the other Ducati kits are also £55
Site I ordered it from was 3dom wraps UK based
Ive never ordered from them before but used Paypal to be on the safe side
Ill update once the kit arrives:)

  2. Think the money is worth spending on the fitting though, a little panel I'd have a go on, a whole bike is s different story :)

  3. I had mine done professionally. Worth every penny :)

  4. Did you get the 3M kit ?
When I bought my bike the threw the 3M ventureshield and fitting in for nothing, quality job done am well chuffed with it and its the second bike I have had done :)

  5. Yes it's the 3m kit, and I'm looking forward to installing it myself.

  6. Had mine done at dealers been back twice has it was lifting off on sides of seat unit guy who fitted said pani,s curves make it a bastard to fit ,Although it,s been ok since the second attempt had the full kit on my pani r

  7. Shame they don't list one for 748/916/996/998 :(

  8. We do have kits for these, they are just the earliest ones we did and we have not listed them yet. Will let you know when we get these online. Any questions about VentureShield, we are here to help

  9. I fitted a full kit to my 9R and it went on very easily and I wouldn't hessitate to do another bike. The only thing I'd like in a kit is protection for the fairing lowers where the stones get flicked up underneath.

  10. Yes they are in the prime spot aren't they. I believe some of the kits may have those sections but there are a few hundred so I'm not 100%. We have actually just added simple 0.5m x 0.61m & 1m x 0.61m sections of the VentureShield film that can be cut and customised for DIY areas. We can make and cut custom sections, but it's not always the most cost effective solution to the problem.

Hopefully that is sort of helpful

  11. Ordered. Thanks for your help.

  13. Another quick question, how easy is it to removed damaged sections of film??

  14. The OP got a bargain at £55, they are normally £90

  16. I've fitted the product and it was quite easy following the instructions and numerous videos on YouTube. It's cut to shape perfectly.
Took me about 2-3 hours to do the whole bike

  17. Question for Adam of 3Dom wraps :-

What I'd like is just a piece that does the nose of the fairing, I'd be happy to pay £15 or £20 for it, but I don't think the full kit is necessary and at £90, its a bit steep for a few bits of plastic sheet that probably cost about a fiver to manufacture.

Why don't you offer a fairing front and tank sides kit, these seem to be the areas that get most wear?

Is your stuff the proper 3M's gear???

    Cheers,

    Poucher

  18. We do offer application for bikes, cars, vans etc down in Horley in Surrey. We have also just launched our automotive aftermarket services website, where you can get quotes from and make bookings with local suppliers for things like VentureShield, vinyl wrapping, detailing etc

You can use that system now, although we are still growing our database of suppliers, or you can contact us directly regarding any installations in the Surrey area. Another link below.

  19. OP did get a bargin guys, sorry but we had to alter some of the Ducati prices last month to match up with the RRP from 3M, must have been an error in upload.

We don't mind though, as long as the kit has gone down well and the customer is happy.

We have just added the individual sheets, which may be a cheaper alternative, but the kits are cut exactly to fit so it's usually not worth the hassle other than if you wish to cover additional areas. You can also now customise the kits to include 'matte' finish sections, depending on the finish of your bike and its parts.

  20. Hey Poucher,

it is the proper 3M gear, all accredited etc and cut from templates supplied by 3M, unless we create our own like we have for the 1299 Panigale.

Unfortunately our hands are tied on pricing, the film is expensive and we have to follow the RRP supplied by 3M. We can look to add some custom kits but if you see our product listings, there are hundreds. I can look into if this is possible as a customisable feature in the future and let the thread know. The only other alternative is the product i mentioned above, buying a sheet and cutting/adding yourself.

Sorry that doesn't completely answer your question yet.
