What other life essentials can you strap to a bike?

  1. We know we can have women pillions "strapped" to the bike but what else? Let me start ;) IMAG0128.jpg

  2. No ,no,no............................Cider,Cider,Cider:eek:

  3. It's Le Cidr and is the best in weather like this.

  4. As advertised by a pretentious French* wankre!

Just to be clear, its a joke - I like the French, and have spent a lot of time in France with some very nice people.

With a ride out on the Ducati I take nothing more than a mobile phone, debit card and an RAC card.

  5. That pic is so Bol d'Or! All the bikes seemed to be on the roads around Le Castellet with multiple bottles of beer strapped to them. Brings back memories! Them were the days! (Cue pipe, cue slippers).

I'll tell you what you can't get on a 999 - a second set of leathers that you bought in Andorra and bungeed to your tail bag. Cos they will slip in the high winds, fall onto the exhaust and burn.

Don't ask how i know this.

  6. Another thing that can not go on a 749/999 is a to big seat bag as it will slide over the exhaust, burn a hole, melt your wallet with all cards, melt part of your phone and make you loose your house keys. :)

  7. That sounds like another one of your escapades Lucaz!

  8. It was when I had a 749. We were going for a ride and a small meet. People following me where trying to wave me to stop but I was thinking they were waving to speed me up. That did no good to my wallet ;) When we stopped at lights I was told I quote "your ass is on fire, what your bag it's on fire" I then turned around to see pile of smoke where we came from.

  9. PMSL :upyeah:

I've gotta catch up with you if ever I'm in the city.

Quality that you just couldn't script!

  10. Well you know how was I to know bike is slightly on fire, it's hot as is. In Poland if you are unlucky to drink poisoned alcohol (methanol or ethanol one of those) first side effect is loss of sight. We have a saying drink faster it's getting dark ;)

  11. Why drink that Stella Cidre when England produces the best cider in the world?

  12. It avoids the inconvenience of having to grow a beard....

  13. Remember things change and Stella one is now better then most of the mass produced staff. I must say that Bulmers is still ok but they do not have an offer at the moment. Strongbow did have offer on their new cider but for some reason I still think Strongbow is the cheap stuff for alcoholics.

    And that ;)

  14. I can't wait for mead to make a comeback...

  15. I can get you a contact for mead if you want Figaro. There was a small company selling the stuff at Castle Hedingham earlier this year and my son got quite into it and has been in regular contact with them since.

  16. I'll stick with the lager, cheers:upyeah:

  17. Mmm mead ... although I couldn't face Moniack mead for many years after a student roleplaying games evening, when 3 of us consumed 2 bottles of Moniack between us in less than an hour, and I felt rather sick. Prefer the Lindisfarne or even the Gales.

Proper cider is none of that overadvertised Bulmers or Magners fizzy stuff - the good stuf is flat, and comes out of cobwebby old barrels in crumbling barns in Somerset, served into unlabelled plastic containers. Part of the camping holiday ritual these days is being beaten at scrabble by my other half, while consuming some nice 7-8% scrumpy which slips down like apple juice, until you stand up to stagger over to the campsite loos ... For massmarket cider the Westons organic isn't bad, and even better, comes in a box like a wine box ...

  18. MrsC check Sainsbury they have plenty of that stuff. Reason I do like the over advertised cider is because it is fizzy and like apple juice. Easy drinking.

  19. Yes Lucazade, things do change but when I made my point about English cider I wasn't thinking of Strongbow or Bulmers
but of brands like Thatchers for example. This brand is really good with a nice variety of dryness and sweetness.Their website is quite interesting too.

  20. Thatcher is as main brand as Bulmers and Strongbow. For me Bulmets is better then Thatcher as it has more acidy feel.
