A couple of miles away I have Chatsworth House (Chatsworth House where I served my joinery apprenticeship and a mile down the road I have Haddon Hall (Manor, Tudor and Country House in Derbyshire, Haddon Hall many film companies use this as a film location one of which was Jane Ayre, I had thee months working on the set of Jane Ayre. Then there's Bakewell it's self which goes back to the Anglo Saxton times with a church that was founded in 920 and almost rebuilt in the early1200s the market which is held on Mondays was established in 1254 and not forgetting the Bakewell Pudding. Bakewell is a perfect base for anyone interested in hiking. Steve
