Hi guys, got myself an 848 Evo a few months back and thought I'd give this whole forum crack a go. First off, could anyone point me in the direction of getting my ecu flashed from standard to a racing silencer one? It would save me shelling out on a new ecu... Cheers all!
Have you got after market race cans or system on it? If you haven't then why do you want a race map ecu it wont help, you are better off going and getting a per cylinder map its about £450, where abouts in the country are you? If you have a termi end cans fitted or system they would have come with an ecu anyway.
Rather than re flashing your stock ECU I would suggest that you buy another cheap off eBay and reflash that. Get one from an 848/1098/1198/HM/SF. This will allow you to return the bike to stock should you wish to sell it and then sell the Termis/ECU as a package. You should pick an ECU up sub £50. PM me re reflashing.
Where did you get the cans from, they should come with the ECU or were the cans already on the bike? Are you sure it doesnt have the upgraded ecu?
If you buy the termi end cans from a dealer it will come with ECU and free flow air filter. You see them on Ebay to as a complete kit, cans, air filter & ECU
Hi mate, speak to John Hackett from JHP/Ducati Coventry, I had a hesitation /flat spot at 7000rpm with Termig cans fitted on my 748SP and he sent me a new JHP Ducati performance chip for the ecu, performs like a totally different bike...amazing
Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. I found a steal online, it was a performance ecu and the numbers matched that of a slip on ecu. Problem is, I've installed it, 848 racing on the dash, but the damn thing won't even turn over to start. All it does when I try to start it is clicks and the light turns off. I've ensured the earth wore on the ecu is reconnected, but now I'm lost...! Any help? Cheers!
The ecu may be linked to the original dash, so immobiliser wont come off. Needs jailbreaking...chris w can help you with that. Alas if thats the case you may as well have just bought a spare
Thanks for the speedy reply, I guess what your saying is that a 2nd hand slip on ecu that was programmed to a different bike won't just plug and play on mine? How would it work though if I was to have a 2nd hand stock ecu re flashed for slip ons? What would be the difference?
"All it does when I try to start it is clicks and the light turns off." Just an idea, sounds like the symptoms of bad battery connections, have you ensured the terminals are clean and tight?
