Termignoni 2-2 Or 2-1

  1. Pretty Celpful hunts, the lot of you. Those RapidBike Evo module looks a bit above my pay grade, although this is all about learning... I'll read up on the Ducati ms forum. for some reason I can't get those SC Projects out or my mind. I just love the look of them.

But just to confirm... I would need to track down an ECU that had be set up for those specific pipes... or... I take the bike with the new pipes, factory ECU and get it remapped? have I got that right? or I get one of those Air Fuel Modifiers and turn it up to 11... seems like a crude hack version of a real remap but I guess it could do...

DUCATI HYPERMOTARD 796 SILENCER AND FULL SYSYEM EXHAUST

The SC Project system is a full system ("Product is supplied with all fittings required and link pipe) so it would also remove the cat? so I would not need the LV decat.

    Sorry for the dumb questions..

  2. Not dumb at all mate if your new to this.

My personal opinion if I was buying from scratch with everything I have learnt so far from my mistakes is get a decent set of pipes MIVV do a complete system and really good price, or you can I believe mix and match I saw somewhere on this forum someone had mated header manifold from one manufacturer with cans from another with no mods needed.

Now you have your exhaust sorted next thing is do you buy a 2nd ECU (stock one for your specific bike)
That way you can get one bespoke remap preferably the new one you just bought then when you sell bike if you want to sell exhaust system separately you can revert back to stock system and fit original ECU on it.

Just work out which is the most feasible for you based on your financial position.

Me I am going to just go for bespoke remap on my original ECU on 848 SF as cans were only £400 and by the time I sell the bike they prob only be worth £50 so whoever buys bike can have em.

The generic maps are ok but my preference is to have one tailor made for my bike so Moto rapido here I come :)

  3. Ok good advice thanks for taking the time. Ok I'll keep my research going. That full MIVV system from the link provided is pretty good value at ~£650 for the full system. Then again it's only £300 extra for for the full SC. I have time to consider as I'm not in a rush. Then new ecu and remap to add on top.

But you can't own a Ducati with only standard pipes. There must be laws against that. :)

  4. Yep there is a law against it so dont fecking do it. I looked at the SC one I wasnt that keen but thats just my preference in taste, and thinking that extra £300 could go towards remap or 2nd ECU.

  5. Fair call on the extra £300. Was it the style or the sound of the SC you didn't like?

  6. Just the look of them mate style.

  7. Welcome Cam, take a look at the recent De-Cat pipe thread re various stages of upgrades and tuning options. I have a Zard Penta on my 796, to much choice that's your main problem, whichever way you go the neighbours will love it though:upyeah:

  8. Thanks HyperC! Yeah there really is a lot of choice isn't there. If only I could hear them all side by side :) I do like the look of the Zard Penta and they seem to get good reviews too.

As you said at least I know the neighbours will releived to hear I've liberated my bike ;)

  9. All I did was decide which ones I didn't like and then waited for one on the yes list to come up at a good price 2nd hand. That way you can spend the savings against the price of a new one on a de-cat pipe + remap & dyno tune :D

  10. Makes sense... so you have a LV de-cat pipe, a new ecu and then you got it remapped?

  11. De-cat + original ECU remapped + dyno tune

  12. Great thanks mate... good news seems to be they all sound pretty good, so a lot of it seems to come down to preference for style, and cost obviously.

  13. Doesn't sound very good recorded with my phone. Sounds much nicer (deeper) in the flesh.

  14. Isaachunt, those sound great, and if they are even deeper in real life then that is impressive!!

    Love the custom LEDs too!!!

  15. I pick up my Hyper this Sat, can't wait!!!!

I've been doing a lot of research on which pipes to get and I think I'm still landing on they SC project 2:2, I just love the look of it.

Thanks for all the help. I think total cost is going to be about £1,500. £1,000 for the SCs which means I don't need to buy a separate LV decat + £100 for a new ecu + £450 for a remap and I thnk I'm done.

Quick question. I've found a chance of of ecus on eBay like this one http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=330830682284

It comes from a 2010 and mine is a 2012. Will that be ok? And is £100 about right for one of these?

    Cheers.

  16. Cam, you don't need to waste any money on a new ECU, they'll remap the existing one :)

  17. Yeah good point HyperC, it was more just to keep the original just to enable me the option to go back to factory when I eventually sell it.

  18. Picked it up this morning... LOVE IT... but I think it needs just a little bit more...umph.... so even more reason to do the pipes now... I was surprised as the sound of the stock pipes, a little better than I anticipated. I'm now a little worried a full SC Project 2:2 might be a little too loud.. it's so difficult to hear in the youtube pics. I've been looking for one closely in London but you hardly ever seem them around!

Stock standard 2012 796 so not that exciting to look at other than the standard Italian beauty.

  19. If you are closer than a hundred yards away before the cars start pulling over your pipes ain't loud enough!

  20. Yeah I love when you pull up in a queue of traffic and they start doing their windows up :)
