Hi guys Just wondering how many of you guys on here own a Bayliss rep or 1098r tell me about them milage etc any mods, love to here from you all as I'm a Bayliss owner too
Great choice of bike ,I nearly said a wise choice but would be so very wrong A real thug of a bike , not the easiest thing to ride ,especially in the damp on an unfamiliar road, but hey who cares about minor niggles like that ? The way these things deliver power and the sound they make is so addictive My bike has done about 10,000 miles, no real problems , the only mod I've done is to drop a tooth on the front sprocket . In my opinion anyone who owns a 1098r and hasn't used it on a track will never really experience just how good these things are As the mechanic at my local Ducati dealer said after road testing the bike after fitting a new clutch " they don't make bikes like that anymore" Can a bike be served with an ASBO?
Hi Ian so you still have the R then I had heard you were selling I'm Dennis from Stocksfield spoke to you a while back yeah the power is unreal just keeps on pullingsounds real mad too with a 70mm termignoni and open clutch wow aching for the summer now
Hi Dennis . I did think about selling it last year , the reason being to fund an AMA racebike build , The Honda's finished and I've still got the beast ,result . Get yourself booked up for a trackday at somewhere like Brands GP ,Anglsey or better still Spa ,talk Davey into it as well Ian
Must be summit in the water up there, or maybe just the cracking roads. Lived in Durham before leaving UK a couple of years ago. Had my Bayliss from new and absolutely love it. Went to part ex a few years ago for the first of the panigales, but changed my mind after test riding one. There was no grunt in comparison to the 1098R mid range. As Ian says, you don't really get to know the bike until you get it on the track. I started dipping my my toe with mine in 2011 and it made the bike even more addictive. Last year it didn't get ridden on the road after about June, but instead spend the whole summer on trackdays. This year it isn't going on the road at all. Am committing to making it a full track bike, and putting all that expensive bodywork in boxes. This year is gonna be mint.
Well said Glen ,that's what their made for , lets face it where else can you do 160 mph several times in any 20 min session ? certainly not on the road
I been thinking about posting a thread about the Bayliss Rep, I can't find any for sale, what is a sub 1000 mile bike worth? A business colleague has a 400kmh bike I was thinking of buying. Any general ideas on prices?
