He only got 19 laps due to bike probs. not happy with rear grip. If he can get a set up he likes there's potential to move up 4 or more places only about .5 secs above him. Top 10 well possible.
Its not a comeback is it? thought he was just standing in for guiliano this weekend or is there more? i guess if he smashes it he may get an offer but i think 1, he wont and 2, he retired by choice so probably dosnt want a comeback just a blast and fair play to him! i dont care where he comes but it would be good to see an old dog teaching a few a leason
when i say old dog i mean compared to the rest of the field and in motor racing terms as 45 aint old!!
can he ask if he can use his 2002 998 times.....1.32.....(these would put him inside the top ten!) circa 2 seconds quicker than his current 1199 times.........
So...more power, more grip, better chassis, better tyres, lighter components, fitter riders yet times havent moved on...maybe Jerry can lend him his old bike back, the one he has on fagbook?
This might come back to bite Ducati in the bum. After all, if a maestro like Bayliss can't get the Panigale to perform as well as a 13 year old bike, you might start thinking that the whole concept was flawed...
i meant more the lay out.. but if so it goes to show eh? if all the bells n whistles and advancements dont mean squat then the bigger (more powerfull bike) may not be the better option and provide a higher level of enjoyment over a longer period...
Yep, buy 10 to 15 tear old bikes that go up in value, just as quick in real terms, especially on the road and loose no money, just gain some instead - motorcycling utopia
Good to see him back even for just the one race , tho i expect ducati are looking more to the publicity angle rather than an on track result ,,,,,,,,, 18 th on first day so prob more to come .
Ducati, publicity exploit, you think, probably/certainly. People - we have a LEGEND back racing this weekend - who cares about the bloody politics - anyone of my age who remembers him at his best, iwill agree that this t is just a treat, I can't wait. He probably won't win or podium (but you never know) but he will be competitive and I bet will surprise some of the young guns. Did I remember to say I'm a little bit excited.
