Tingly fingers

  1. Anyone know a reliable cure for tingly fingers? I'm sure it's vibration through the bars but not sure wether heavier bar ends or foam grips is the best solution. All help greatly appreciated. Chris

  2. I would have thought heavier end bars, otherwise what is the point of them existing?

  3. I experience it now and then , pro grips have helped , when it happens I squeeze my thumb and index finger together around the bar, it helps.

  4. Move them around a bit
I found mine did that when my wrists were at 45 degrees and spent to long putting my weight on them while riding
My fingers would go numb too

  5. Just put Grip Puppies on my Multi. Really impresses. No more vibration, nothing.

  6. Thanks , I knew you lot would come up with some good ideas.

  7. Get a beer belly so most of your weight can be rested on the fuel tank instead of through your wrists, works for me :upyeah:

  8. Thanks Pat, but having managed to lose about 4 stone and @ 6 inches off my waist over the last 8 years I really don't want to go back there, particularly as I have a back injury as well! Think I will try the grip puppies first and see what happens.

  9. Just a thought...
Is this tingling on a specifc part of your hand? Could be circulation (CPS) or even gloves too tight (loosen the velcro strap). I have CPS, mine first appreared when riding the Ducati then I noticed tingling fingers when driving if one hand was on top of the steering wheel.
Support bandages worn when riding improved this for me...

  10. Weighted bar ends... as far as I'm aware Motovation ones are the heaviest so that's what I got for my 1098. It didn't cure the problem but it helped a lot. A lot of bar ends look pretty but they're made of aluminium and weight close to nothing.

  11. Its only when riding and it's both hands that are affected, but a good thought. We have plenty of tubigrip so will try it and see. Cheers, Chris

  12. Hmmm might be a little extreme and make opening the throttle/braking/etc a bit awkward. And having found a bike I like I don't want to go back to just driving the car thank you!!!

  13. +1 on these, and they are cheap and easy to put on.

  14. Tell me more about the Pro Grips. They look cool and professional. Do they really make any difference?
The Grip Puppies look as if you'd lose a certain amount of feel - like they'd be too fat or impede throttle blipping while changing down and braking. Any truth in this?

  15. Yeah, but you didn't have tingly hands back then did you, so my solution obviously works .
Well done with the weight loss by the way, I lost a bit of weight a few years ago, even ran a couple of marathons, but it creeps back on and get harder to shift.
I've got the longer Rizoma bar ends on mine and they seem to help.

  16. Thanks Pat, but I didn't have a bike back then so difficult to say if that's the reason! :upyeah:

  17. The grip puppies feel very strange at first just because of the extra thickness. Like anything else though, 150 miles under your belt and you don't notice, well you do. Notice no vibtation white finger!
