Track Gearing 1199 Panigale

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Bubba, Feb 22, 2015.

  1. Hi
Can anyone give me an Idea for track gearing on a 1199 panigale. The bike is not to be used on the road,it has a full Termi and superstock ecu.
    Thanks
    Paul

  2. Depends what track......

  3. Yeah I understand that but there must be a general gearing to star from. The bike will have it's first outing at Almeria.

    Thanks for your response

  4. Drop one off the front, suit almost everwhere I reckon.

  5. OK, the gearing for Almeria is....15/41. Standard Panigale R gearing.
I mucked about a bit but found this to be spot on.

Glad you didn't ask for another track as I wouldn't have been able to tell you :)

  6. So you got flat out to max power in top then?

  7. Nope, 10k in 6th. But it's not all about that and maybe a skinnier dude would be flat out at that gearing. However with that gearing you do get a good run in 6th on the back straight and it works well through the rest of the track.

  8. 10k in top has to be prety much there! Is the R gearing shorter than other Panigale?

  9. Yep it is different. Up 2 on the back I think, but not 100% sure.

  10. Explains it then, like I said down one off std front ;) lol

Most bikes suit -1 front as a good starting poimt as normally geared for high top end. Werent the ealier R models also lower gearing?

  13. Not sure about early R's. Here's a gear chart that shows the difference between -1 on front and +2 on rear, if the charts correct ofc :). Handy to have anyhow.

  14. Please do you have a link for the chart so I can print it?
