  1. Yeh not wanting to start the whole 1199 v 899 thing either. Interesting you say that though.

I had similar with my 848. I'd spent so much on bits that I could of bought a nice 1198s. my aim with the 1199 is to leave it very much standard and not go mad.

  2. JHP sorted the anodising,as they had a pile of stuff done so i threw in my bits,it works out a lot cheaper for more bits.

I know where you are coming from,i could have got a 1199 with what it has cost me up to date but then i would have wanted a 1199s then a r then a sl but with the 899 there is no other spec other than a base model, built to a budget,i know it looks a bling and is not to all tastes but most of the proper mods have been to upgrade parts that i have noticed over the year that have been lacking and have tried to replace with quality parts,i would like to think that if Ducati ever decided to bring out a 899s it would be of similar spec so i would not be wanting to change.Funny thing is i have not spent a penny on my multi in nearly 2 years because i dont think it needs improving. Its not just a garage queen it gets used on road and track so at least i am out there enjoying it,only when the sun shines :Angelic:

I bet though if you parked your bike up next to an 1199, 1199S or even an 1199R it would get as much or probably even more attention than the bigger bikes, so as far as desirability goes your bike is well up there at the top!.

  5. Funny things bikes, things like Termis or Ohlins ect mean feck all to 99% of people, its only a small minority that appreciate what goes into all of our bikes.

  6. Your bike looks great Simmy

Okay I will say it, I don't get why folk always ask if you should buy the bigger engined bike! Why do you want 200hp+ for a street bike? Even the 147hp or so the 899 has is more than enough for 99.9% of riders.

  8. The whole and dimple is just a locator you will find if you take the throttle clamp off there will be a nipple on it, well thats what I had on my Streetfighter.

    Bike looks very nice though,
I have just ordered some carbon and anodised bits for mine, cant wait for them to turn up so I can fit em on :)

  10. Cupid the 899 runs rbw throttle as you know,as you can see from the pic there is a dot punch and a hole for the rbw cable,if the bars were powder coated i think the powder coat would fill the dot punch,i was told the dot punch was needed, but like all info it could be wrong ?

  11. I wasn't aware that the RBW went into the bars, I assumed it would go to a sensor somewhere located on the bike externally via an external cable.

  12. is it not just the locator hole for the throttle twist grip like on all clip-ons ive ever changed?

  16. Hey, very nice job - liking the paint job, is that a sticker/transfer kit or did you get it painted?

  17. Its paintwork by Rage Designs :upyeah:

  18. Nice! Was thinking of getting gold OZ wheels at some point myself, couldn't find anybody who did it already... Rhetorical question: how's handling after you installed them?

  19. I have only just fitted them so not had chance to ride it yet,i would have liked to have ridden them back to back with the standard rims, been about 3 months since i last rode the bike so i guess i will not notice any difference.

  20. Where did you get the magnesium clutch casing?
