  1. Hi I've had my sport classic since 2007. And love it but don't get much chance to ride having a new addition to the family. Im sure a few of you have been where i am lol.
Just got to ride it twice last year including taking it for the MOT.
Can a faulty battery cause the bike to cut out when riding? as i found out on a round about.
When I've tried to start it after being on a trickle charge, the starter button seems to stick!
Is this just down to lack of use or are there more serious issues?
    Any help would be useful.
    Many thanks
    Dickie

  2. Hi mate and welcome,
Might be worth pulling the starter switch apart and giving it a clean.
Where you store the bike does it get damp?

  3. Hi its kept covered in the garage. So its pretty dry.

  4. Welcome Dave.

  5. Not sure what sits behind the actual starter button but quite possibly its the same as whats behind playstaion and nintendo controller buttons (rubber which pushes the button out after releasing it) if you know what I mean, or it could be spring loaded.
Still first port of call would be to take it apart and see if its sticking.
Normally only 3 bolts holding it together.

  6. Thanks ill have a look this week

  7. Welcome David :)

  9. Hello and welcome stickie Dickie Dave :)

  14. Hi and welcome :)

  15. Hi thanks all, fortunately managed to pull clutch in in time. After i pulled over and took helmet off, i tried to start it and it fired 1st time, it then cut out again about 1 mile further on.
So i turned round and rode 25 miles without incident.
Since then the starter seems to stick on.
