DDA on Windows7!

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Kian, Aug 22, 2012.

  1. Has anyone been able to use the DDA (1198S) with Windows7? I have tried installing it from the CD-ROM but it would not connect to the USB part. I then tried down loading the most recent DDA 3 from the Ducati Web site; it still did the same. Can anyone help?:frown:
    Thanks.

  2. Hi Kian,

The new version should work if you run it in windows XP compatibility mode.....or it did for me.

  3. Turn your computer on and as it is booting press the F8 key until a multi choice screen appears.
Then press the "Page Down" key until the cursor is highlighting "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement", then press "Enter".
Windows will now boot as normal to the desktop.
Go to DDA 3 file and right click, go down to "Properties" and left click, go to "Compatibility" and left click, tick the box that says "Run this Program In Compatibility Mode for Windows XP Service pack 3", click "Apply" then click "Ok".
Launch the DDA 3 program to install and let it finish. Then plug in the USB module, everything should work.

The reason it won't normally work is because ALL drivers that are installed on Win7 have to be certified by Microsoft, the USB driver for the DDA is not certified by Microsoft. (because Ducati can't be arsed to submit it ).
Pressing F8 at boot and disabling driver certification enables the DDA driver to be installed.
EVERY time you want to use the DDA you will need to press F8 during booting and disable driver certification.

  4. I was wondering the same, but thats a pretty big PITA

  5. It shure is, but we can lay this one squarely at the feet of Ducati. All they have to do is submit the DDA driver to Microsoft for certification and we would all then be able to run the software with no fiddling around in the bios.

  6. and let be honest here, how many of us will really benefit from the data? Ooh look I opened the throttle 0.025% earlier at the traffic lights by the post office, but I only managed to carry 0.3% less speed at a 0.41% reduced lean angle past the Kings Head. Sorry, that was far to cynical for a Friday morning

  7. Made me laugh though

  8. Happy to help :upyeah:

  9. And me :-D

  10. Well at least I have some idea of my role within the groups. I must add that to the skills list on my CV. 'At times can be mildly witty' :upyeah::tongue:
