hi all, ive recently bought a 999s. few weeks in and im still well chuffed with my purchase. ive always loved the looks of the 999 and this one just had everything i wanted. keep hitting the rev limiter by mistake as the thing revs so fast. ive owned almost every other v twin (4 rsv1000, 3 tl1000s 1 tlr, 4 sp1, 1 sp2) still have a sp1 and cbr1000rr amongst other toys (i like collecting them!). ive also had a 1098 too which unfortunately had a disagreement with a car lol anyways, here she is and ill thank you all now for all the help this site gives
Not another newbie !!:Banghead: Where we gonna put you all Hello and welcome into the mad house Watch out for the locals
thanks guys, its only staying like that for a few more weeks and then shes going to be stripped down. going to have the frame done red, swingarm black and the wheels redone gold. whilst shes apart ill have the heads tuned....... cant wait to get it apart
Can I be really nosey and ask, what year is the bike, mileage and how much ? PM me if you don't want to blurt it out over the forum.
thats the trick aint it, hammering it back together again its got 16k on it, full history, just had belts done and literally brand tyres. some nice extras. full leo vince pipe, pc3, renthal c and s with lower gearing, DP rearsets ( i think), carbon hugger. pretty certain it has the lighter flywheel too. i know it doesnt mean a great deal but theres a dyno print for 144 rwhp. seems a bit high but hey ho was only 4k was so cheap i just couldnt say no. the missus however looks at it with hatred as it looks nothing like the new bathroom suite i was meant to be spending the money on
Bloody hell that was cheap, what year ? 2003 ? I have just seen a 999s slightly higher mileage than yours and going for 5K not a Fila though
it was cheap tbh its also had the updated swingarm too. having a race paint job divides people. for me, i love it. if it had been a red bike id of had it done like this. its been done since new and is a wonderful job. these bikes are very much on the up in value. i really do believe that in the next 2 years, if you dont already own a 999 the days of getting one for sensible money will be over.
its a mix of both, number boards, tank and the blue on the bellypan are painted. the rest are graphics lacquered over.
