Used it for the first time the other day, granted it was after having to use Gunk but I was quite impressed, will get some more for general use grime but no good for thick ground in stuff.
We use Muck Off. Makes quick work of cleaning the bike, especially when you just want to do a light clean.
Hateful stuff. Leave it to dwell any longer than a minute or so and you've got alloy damage, plating damage to the fasteners, screws, hangers etc and it stains anodised finishes......... It could be argued that it needs to rinsed off well/properly etc. but why use stuff that's so aggressive in the first place. I really don't like the stuff
MUC OFF is good stuff been using it for years and its always produced great results. They now have a great variety of motorcycle products to try out. Ive also used there helmet sanitiser which is pretty good!!!!
+1. I've been warned by others that if you don't rinse it off pretty sharpish it can damage finishes. I don't use it anymore.
I have been using for a few years now on all bikes and even the van to remove green algae after being parked up for a while. I think it's great and never had any problems that others have spoke of regarding fasteners etc. I always apply to a wet bike and only do small sections at a time ie front wheel and rads, then footless and bottom of fairings etc before washing off. On really grimy sections like the back wheel and around the swingarm then move over to either wd40 or duck oil.
I use Muck-Off chain cleaner and the PTFE chain lube. Clean and effective. Also use MO PTFE protectant/water dispersant in summer after washing when the bike has drip dried. Repels water and water marks brilliantly and doesn't leave a residue. Can't say I've noticed any damage from the pink cleaner. I apply it only to the really grubby parts after wetting down then almost immediately wash off with a soft brush and water/car shampoo. Never had a problem and it does shift flies and light tar spots. But I'll bear in mind the warnings. What else to use and where to buy it?
mixed reviews here. Don't like the sound of it marking alloy parts at all. Think I might give it a couple of small test runs on parts out of the way first.
By the ten gallon drum if I could. A new Abba stand arrived yesterday. Got it fitted and the bike up with both wheels off the ground and had a good inspection. Its in a dry but unheated garage and there is moisture beading on most of the metallic parts but no corrosion because there's a coating of ACF50 underneath.
I only asked as it was the best thing around and I think it still is, but it doesn't get mentioned, brilliant for winter lay ups and keeping the electricity from falling out
I used to use autoglym motorbike cleaner but then discovered SDOC100 bike cleaning gel.I posted the results on old ducatisti forum and lots of others tried it after my recommendation and I think everyone agreed bar one that struggled with the bottle for some reason. Havent used anything else sine and use there chain cleaner but go wurth for the dry chain lube.
