Monster Idea

  1. I think you should. It's obviously well engineered but shouldn't it look good as well.
I'd love to know how it goes and no offence intended.

  2. I realise that. Just fancy something completely different and individual. We shall see ...

  3. I like the aeriel. Its different, chunky, not like anything else....good cos its got its own style. The monster...in some ways i love them....view from the rear is the best but ive never liked the front light....its like an afterthought, ie, we'll do an iconic bike that looks like nothing else and just throw a front light from the 70's silver dream racer on the front...onthe whole i like them...just the front light that would stop me from owning one...

  4. I couldn't agree more. The headlight is shit. Wonder if anyone will offer another solution?

  5. Ive often though about it myself...buy one and then deal with the light...but....i cant think of anything else that would go in its place...ironically...but i know i dont like the light thats on there!

  6. It's so in your face too. You can't ignore it! So annoying.

  7. Yep....if it wasnt for that id buy one...in fact...im hoping to work out some way of chopping my hyper in for a streetfighter 1098....not sure what angle to take with the wife yet...

  8. Just do it and take the flak. Maybe tell her you got a like for like trade-in!!

  9. Couldnt afford a trade in....theyd give me fuck all for mine...the only remote bit of leverage id have is shes getting a new car as ours got wrote off a few weeks ago...

  10. One word......scrambler :)

  11. Was she driving?

  12. Yep. But not her fault...got shunted on the left...car's written off....i tried to keep it as otherwise there was nothing wrong with it and she doesnt really care for cars...just an a to b thing for her....although if were forced into getting another car then she wants a 7 seater so she wants an smax...which doesnt bother me.

  13. Yeah....hmmm, what would i rather have now?.....hipster scrambler or growling 1098sf with an open clutch basket rattling away....

  14. I had a seven-seater once. A Mitsubishi Space Wagon. Ended up ferrying all the kids to play in football matches etc!!

I will in all probability get another MTS and hold on my ST but definitely want to test ride the Ariel Ace before makings decision because it got a great write-up in the Telegraph. Tele forks though not ugly girders.

And that has a headlamp problem too. It's much too small but thats easily rectified I reckon.

  15. Yeah...agreed...another "afterthought" headlamp...

  16. Interesting read but not for me. My Speed Triple covers those particular bases.

  17. Yeah...agreed....cant put my finger on it but buell's always strike me as the chevrolet of bikes....they probably work really well in the us but not here..they strike me as a bike that would devalue faster than most

  18. It seems mr triple we have roughly the same taste in bikes....

  19. I like 'em all really - even those silly over-the-top choppers (as works of art, not to ride) - but sadly have limited cash to indulge myself. So have to make good choices because chopping and changing costs and I can only afford to keep a limited number.

Still can't stop myself eyeing up every bike on the road or parked when I'm in the car or walking - much to the amusement of my children! Sad really. But everyone has to have a hobby.
