1200 First Ride With Decat And Rexxer

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Dave Moen, Feb 27, 2015.

  1. Had the first ride last weekend, due to the phenomenal spring weather the bike is on the road 6 weeks earlier than usual. Did the LeoVince decat and the Rexxer flash over the winter..Just got to say..if you are hesitating on this upgrade ..dont.
The bike is just way smoother in the lower RPM.. I can cruse on the flat @ 2100 RPM and its smooth as silk. The butt dyno says it pulls harder. When I was on it hard previously it would sometimes wheelie in second when it hit 7000 rpm..Now I cant keep the wheel down..Just makes me smile every time I ride

  2. Just got out today with Leo Vince decat and Termi stubby.......happy with the loudness ......but.......sounds like I've got a tailgunner on the overrun! I need to reduce this. Any ideas?

  3. Typically when you reduce the back pressure on the exhaust , the bike will run a little lean, when it runs lean, sometimes the spark plug cant light the mixture while under pressure, and a small amount of raw fuel enters the exhaust. The hot exhaust then lights off the fuel, and you get popping. The only way to get rid of this is to add fuel....that's why I went with the Rexxer...fat duc's may help, But I have no personal experience with them...

  4. Fatducs wont do anything for the 2013+ . You'll either need to add back pressure or map/tune etc.

  5. Will adding the baffle help to increase the backpressure?

  6. It will, though will be doubtful that it will add enough to compensate for the amount contained in the original mid section. I have both the LV mid and end can. I ran it for about two weeks before my remap with the baffle in it was popping when coming off the throttle , which sounds like much the same as you have now. The 2013+ runs extremely lean from the factory and free flowing the exhaust only increases the issue. Some say they have not needed to do anything but I remain sceptical and feel its probably more of riding around the issue rather than the issue not being present.

  7. Hi, contemplating doing the LV decat with the Termi slip-on, just wondering when you say your happy with the noise how loud it actually is? I had the full Termi system on my 2010 which was loud! Do you think your setup would be as loud?

  8. In the end I couldn't stand it. Not the noise (that's fine) but the backfiring on the overrun so it's back to oe. Any offers on a Leo vince decat pipe with 50 miles on it?

  9. I've the USB upmap designed for the factory Termis (decat) and larger end can (it has some back pressure).
If you come to my place (Heathrow) we can load the upmap and you can buy me a pint.
Mine runs perfect and got rid of the popping present before I did the upmap?

The question of a leovince decat and the standard end can (factor or stubby termis) has been done to death on here. It will be very loud. The Leo Vince dB killer is next to useless according those that tried it.

  10. I thought those upmaps were programmed to only be uploadable once (unless downloaded again prior to uploading again elsewhere?)

  11. I've got no instructions with mine!

  12. My understanding is that when you load the upmap onto the bike the standard map downloads to the stick. If you swap the exhaust you do the process again and the maps get swapped back.

  13. Thanks for the offer however I have been out today with the standard cat back on and I have decided that I am going to stick with it. So, back to e bay to sell!

  14. I suppose that LV decat is long gone??
