Long story short selling to pay for our honeymoon mad I know but in the promise for a 1299 after the wedding
Having just bought one I'd say about £6k. I don't think you ever get your money back on mods might be worth selling them separate, I'll have the termis There is a good few about now I've bought mine (typically) and hard to nail a price on. The 10 plates I saw for £6.5k with 5k on them seem to still be forsale...
i got £6200 for a 10 plate with 7k miles when i sold straight to a dealer. (and they removed my ohlins free too)
Yes there is a massive disparity in price - I imagine it's because all of them have below average miles.. I'm looking for one now for circa 6-6.5k but it has to be an Evo - The prices seem all over the place!!
Cheapest evo on biketrader is £7k asking price with over 10k miles on it. You'd be hard pushed to get one for £6k imo
Well, unless you buy an ex-track/race one and you can pick them up fully sorted for under £5000 dripping with Ohlins
I've had an Evo corse before and spent £000000's on it. Preferred my evo so steering clear of the se :/
The one on bike trader for 7k has black callipers and black inner tubes on the front forks which I thought was weird..
Why do you say that about steering clear of the corse? The Corse is the 848 Evo with quick shifter and traction control, IMO the corse has to be the better bike surely ? Prices on standard Evo range 7k - 9k on trader and range from 2010 model - 2012 model Couple of 2012 SE corse too
I've had the original 848, evo and then se.. Each were brand new and I changed to the se as I figured that was the best shout for my progression as I was spending more and more time on the track and less time on the road. Turned out the quickshifter was rubbish (lots of false neutrals), and wasn't compatable with race shift pattern. I didn't feel I gained anything from the Ohlins rear shock and traction control was only useful in the wet; which I never enjoyed anyway. A pic of the Corse, I spent a fair few quid on it but never enjoyed it as much as my evo.. Can't really describe why anymore than that..
Oh no worries mate, I thought maybe there had been problems with it, those Akro's look sweet on it though. I've fitted QS on my 848 Streetfighter and have same problem but was given some advice to adjust it slightly so its a bit tighter, had same prob on my 1199 but dealer adjusted that one for me as it was in their workshop at the time being serviced when I mentioned it and not had a problem since and done 300 miles since. Does it have more hp than standard Evo ?
No the Corse is the same power.. I don't think the 848 needs things like traction control and quick shift. I just want an evo back but not keen on spending the money this time round and looking for a tidy used one that hopefully won't encourage me spending all my pennies tricking up. If it wasn't for saving for my wedding it'd probably be an 899 this time round
Go the 1199 route instead I found the 899 a let down after the Evo's In its own right the 899 is a nice bike to ride but never gave me as much pleasure as my 848 Evo
Seen your ad in the bikes for sale section looks great but at that price I think you'd have no trouble selling it as standard and get a lot more flogging the exhaust and brakes separately. They'd go for at least £1k I reckon and you should still get £6k for the bike.
