I kid you not. I didn't mean to. I was in the adjacent Honda garage talking about my CBR 600 and then had a look at the Ducatis. I had previously ridden an 899 on demo and was blown away, mostly by the start up sound and the handling - ah, of course, the looks didn't hurt. Problem was, I rode a 2015 BMW1000RR and I promised this german beauty that I would be back to claim her like a knight in shining armour... She was a bit hairy in places but I quite likes the curves and I felt good whilst riding her. Now I have done the dirty and fell instantly in love again with an Italian redhead. What on earth am I going to say to my, now, ex-german love? I feel like such a b@stard.
Touché! As I say to anyone that'll listen ... that Andy is not your run-of-the-mill bumbling oaf ... he doesn't bumble and he is definitely not run-of-the-mill.
Well if it was a 1299 you could defiantly look the beemer in the eye, but an 899... It`s like your wife leaving you for another woman.
It will be no slower that the 1000RR on normal roads, maybe quicker, so if that is all you ride then no problem. My 748, 848 was as quick A-B as my Rsv4 or Blade
Just collected mine on Sunday and came from a ZZR 1400. Not feeling like there's any outright speed difference so far and I'm still breaking it in.
Sweet, thats good to hear. Of course, its not all about speed for me, just the connection and the emotion, which is where Italian bikes, and cars, rule hands down. Though I was impressed with the 'character' of the MT-07 and MT-09 Tracer. No doubt the 899 was a fast bike and it still made me whoop for joy in the higher revs. One could argue that circa 150 BHP is the perfect figure for meaningful fun on UK roads.
