Hi guys I know another thread has recently been done on this but I just want to check a couple of things. 1: are these steel with stainless steel outers? 2: is there anything I should not use on the outers (oven cleaner, etc)? 3: is it important to stop cleaning products (such as oven cleaner) from going in the pipes and getting to the packing? Thanks
Stainless will be less magnetic than ordinary steel or not magnetic at all, so do some probing with a magnet
I'd be inclined to remove that big plaque myself. a it's rather large and unsubtle. b it screams non-standard at cops and mot testers...
Don't worry, it's down votes that really count, apart from the 25 I've had from @chizel as they are more like awards
Even if they were quality stainless, they'd have to be at least 316 grade or higher before a magnet would stop working on it. For cleaning them, wire wool & autosol. Works every time.
Funilly enough that's what I have found is best. And then a buffer in the drill. Tried coca-cola and Tesco scour pads with the pink soap inside this afternoon which also worked well.
Sorry, what you asking? Only thing on them is a product code/part number and the big red "promotive".
If you do remove the nameplates save em for me Creamy as I've got a pair of Promotive race cans that some donkey ditched the plates
