My intention is that this isn't replaced. Anything else, the plan is for it to be as well as, not instead of. IMO this bike is just very very special.
So, I guess a quick write up before I get onto my 2nd San Miguel. How was it.. It was everything I wanted, everything I dreamed. It was just a stunning stunning machine. The track was dry, the weather was sunny (if a little cold), there were a bunch of old mates flying round the track and having laughs at eachothers expense. The 848 behaved brilliantly, I was trying to get it out of shape, trying to brake a bit later, trying to corner 1 gear higher, trying to push a bit more (all relative as my speed is shite still), but the 848 just laughed at me... Took it all in it's stride and cracked on. OK, so I wouldn't say it's completely 'at one' yet, but that's just me, not it, it takes a bit of getting used to with how it handles. The slipper clutch is just brilliant, brake too late and just slap it down 2 gears, no blipping and it just sorted it all out LOL. I'm knackered.... happy but knackered. Top day with top people and a top bike
Hello Weeksy, thought i'd join this forum from 'therevcounter'. As I'm planning on going ducati hopefully this year, having met you once i'm reminded how some people are clinical about cleaning motorbikes.
eh up Weeksy,.......looks like you have kept the weight off how much did you lose?? Good to have another racer here to keep Bradders company..
i remember it was a lot........6 stone WOW fantastic..... did you swap with Couchy did he have the Gixer?
Couch was struggling to sell the 848 as there was 3 on eBay that were similar, but not as nice IMO as mine, basically because of race series changes, they're all on 899s now. I sent him a text more as a joke offering him my bike and some cash, somehow he agreed! I was expecting him to bail right up until we exchanged. So yes, he now has my 750k6, but only because it will be easier to sell/trade in.
Had to move some stuff about in the garage and sweep the floor so just a quick pic with the road bellypan fitted.. Still looks good IMO
